the motivation to work is hitting new lows, there is simply nothing that needs to be done that could not be done in the new year save for people's artificial deadlines

I remember starting up DAO as a teenager and being like "Oh I am gonna make a badass elf mage" and then realising within 5 seconds, oh mages are persecuted. Oh elves are persecuted more 🤯 Veilguard feels so vanilla in comparison lol

also for a game focused on elven gods, are we ever going to deal with dalish elves grappling with their very existence...everyone just seems to accept E & G coming outta the veil so quickly 😦

I'm sad that the world building stuff that made DA, DA just seems to be minimised. You'd think Andraste ceased to exist, there's like 0 mention of the chantry, the circles or templars or anything to do with the political system

- okay but WHY are the Venatori following E & G? Also why do the Venatori even still exist?
- I cringe every time Rook says "the risen gods" or "the elven gods" I don't know why but I just immediately lose immersion.

Idk if this will change as I get further in, but the Crows seem so sanitised to me, like they're just edgy cosplayers... I had Rook talk to some guy and ask him (whilst beaming) whether he sold poison. It seems kinda at odds with previous iterations lol. They're like goofy family mafia

- Solas's memories. The hairstyle. The mullets need to stop

- the writing does seem to have more of a "tell, don't show" vibe and there is a lot of handholding ("Rook!! That's two of three crystals in place only one more to go!!)
- that being said, I did like the scene of settling into my quarters at the Lighthouse as an expository device. Cheesy but cool
