Weird way to say your adult son has no idea how to read a menu, but pop off king.
Robert Mueller bent over backwards to protect Trump and this is what he (very predictably) got for it.
The same way we took back the airports during the Revolutionary War.
Seeing this gave me Vietnam flashbacks to having to teach shitheads like this.
Sometimes I miss being in academia. A lot of the time I don’t.
We’ll have to see. I’m sort of glad I didn’t get a job in academia the further I get away from it. But one of the biggest drawbacks is not having time and resources for research and working on a manuscript. But it would be nice to actually finish the damn thing one day 😅
I expect Migration and the Origins of American Citizenship to be a much needed addition to the of citizenship studies during this period. When you’ve been in it you realize it’s been surprisingly stagnant until recently. This will definitely be required reading going forward.
I seriously cannot wait to find time to read this book.
Anna’s research has been looking amazing for years. Considering I never have time to actually do any real research these days on my own work, it’s going to be great to read something from a scholar with similar research interests.
And then do absolutely nothing. Best prepare yourself.
“With a judicial finger in the constitutional dike” aptly describes that situation we have been in.
Jake Tapper posting these screenshots like he isn’t about to just completely ignore all of it and write another book about Democrats being horrible.
This guy legitimately thinks he’s doing a good job.
Two posts into this summarization and already pissed.
When the Supreme Court inevitably destroys any logical, constitutional, or historical understanding of birthright citizenship they’ll use idiotic shit like this to justify themselves.
And I’ll want to rip my eyes out so I don’t have to read it.
Being so racist that you not only believe in phrenology, but believe in phrenology for dogs as well is crazy.
We’re not JUST being let down by the establishment Democrats who are entirely out of touch with public opinion and reality, and refuse to be an actual opposition party.
We’re being completely forgotten by the wing of the party that got in office bashing the same people they now support.
The most annoying thing about Democratic leadership isn’t actually their cowardliness. That’s expected.
It’s the lack of protest from the supposedly progressive wing of the party. Why haven’t progressives been pushing for new leaders and publicly calling out Schumer, Jeffries, et al?
Post by Matthew Guariglia: Some Democrat is going to propose a truth and reconciliation commission but it's gotta be truth and consequences. There's no way to find out what happened, get transparency, and move on. We have to salt the earth under the DHS, dismantle the policing and surveillance infrastructure that allowed it. 6:07 pm on 1/24/26
Post by Representative Becca Balint: We will need a Truth and Reconciliation Commission when these cruel, lawless people are out of office. They must be held accountable in order for our nation to heal. 8:10 pm on 1/24/26
Democrats are so damn predictable.
The most recent ICE killing really illustrates just how much these guys just want to play dress up and feel tough.
That guy was motionless on the ground, (possibly already dead), and not a threat. But multiple agents shot his body after a couple of seconds b/c they just wanted to shoot their guns.
The media helping Republicans break international law is old news, and that in and of itself is maddening.
Has anyone talked about the how Republicans thinking an entire country now falls under their control just because they have their chief executive in custody is yet another indicator of how much they believe Trump, (and any future Republican president for that matter), is a king?
Umm…the history of law enforcement in this country begs to differ…
Hard to overstate how absolutely bonkers things have gotten in the last decade that the United States openly kidnapped a foreign head of state and this country didn’t grind to a halt in response.
I don’t know how correct ChatGPT is when transcribing handwritten historical documents. But I have to think there’s no way it looked at that word and thought it said “yankees.”
Lash is literally just lying, and hoping people can’t read cursive and just blindly trust his representation of ChatGPT.
All I want for Christmas is for Jeffries to lose his primary.
I’ve been saying this for weeks now, but you cannot convince me that CNN isn’t working with Marjorie Taylor Greene to rehabilitate her image as a crazy far-right extremist.
When you’re listening to the senior scholar in your field provide completely irrelevant comments for the panel.
Watched the first episode of Ken Burns’s American Revolution. And I’m happy to report I was not at all incorrect.
Just a tired retelling of a story based in American exception that drags on for two long hours, setting up for what Burns actually wants to talk about: The Revolutionary War.
My hot take on Ken Burns’s American Revolution is whenever I get around to hate-watching it I’ll just be proved correct that it sucks.
I imagine it’s just a watered down war narrative with a sprinkling of non-military history based mostly on a historiography older than me.
