The much needed and constant rain has allowed me to restart my barn owl project, all be it having to get up before sunrise.

The last time I was able to photograph an owl was back in April.

I’ve rediscovered the Jennings books by Anthony Buckeridge which I’m reading to my youngest for his bedtime story. They were very popular in the 70s and 80s but seem to have disappeared from public consciousness. I’m struck by how good they are: very well written, funny, beautifully observed.
