Marple phoning Mr Stringer from a big leather chair with a moose head looming ominously in the background
showing the gang Murder at the Gallop on Tuesday hopefully so will update youse with how we found the second film in this sadly short series (4 films)
Miss Marple sitting in a room
the MVP has to of course be Margaret Rutherford
she's not the book version of Marple but her performance is so fun and the characterisation so strong that i don't care, we stan a 69-year-old commandeering the plot because she thinks the police are useless
as one review said "go granny go"
that's not to say the other actors aren't good, they are, it's just remarkable to me that the filmmakers could put together a plot where two 60-year-olds are the lead characters and not make them the butt of the joke
it's actually refreshing seeing a film from this era that does this
Marple and Mr Stringer disguised as tracklayers hiding behind a wall
i've often said that Marple and Mr Stringer would be a great Doctor/Companion dynamic and honestly i stick by that, they would've slotted right into Classic Who
i have to give both actors major props for their performances because not only are they a lot of fun, they genuinely carry the thing
Miss Marple stares in horror out her train carraige window
for a "bad adaptation" this film genuinely holds so much nostalgia for me as i saw it when i was a kid, along with the other three films, numerous times
i'd forgotten just how well the thing was put together - for a more light-hearted take, they've really put a lot of effort into making it dramatic
title card for Murder She Said, overlaid on a shot of Miss Marple being walked to her train leaving from Paddington Station
last night the gang and i watched Murder She Said (1961) and i have thoughts :)))

a screenshot of a Discord message I sent that reads: Canon, by definition, means a collection of works. In Doctor Who's case, "canon" comes in three tiers: - TV canon, as in, everything that airs on TV - Big Finish canon, everything they produce - Expanded Media, everything created as neither of the above. Tiers 2 and 3 interpret 1 as 1 is the basis for literally everything else. "Canon" as described by the fans is actually "continuity". This is a very different term and relates directly to the continuation of storylines, details considered "valid" and "invalid", and what aspects from old stories get carried over into later material. Details of continuity can be altered, hence "retcon" (the time rotor was originally just a dial on the TARDIS console in Hartnell's era, but by Tom's it refers to the column, for example). Consistency with continuity is sadly a fickle thing as various production teams don't always agree with stuff pre-established so they instead try to change it on the fly. Doctor Who's created a "flux canon" in which different sources from the three tiers can be the accepted narrative at any time but only if stated as such on TV (e.g. Eight can have companions from Big Finish but if the TV overwrites that, there's nothing you can do about it). Therefore, it's continuity the fans have issue with, not canon. Please use the term for what it actually means.
people seem to not understand what DW's canon situation is, so for future reference, have this simple explanation.
my friend aleks (first voice) and me (second voice) are normal about starting this show
