Plans are in place to also publish the glossary in magazines in Polish and German, and to publish the complete Glossary as a book in English in 2027.

The Glossary is a collaborative publication produced by members of the ARENAS consortium and coordinated by Steven Forti. The entries from the Glossary have also been published in the Italian magazine MicroMega,the Finnish magazine Voima and the magazine Le Grand Continent in French and Spanish.

The ARENAS project was featured on Italian Radio Station RAI Radio 3 this week, during a morning press review. The programme highlighted the ARENAS Glossary of Right-Wing Extremism, bringing the project’s work to a wider national audience.

As platforms become more permissive, low-credibility content often gains greater reach, while new risks, including generative AI, continue to emerge.

The report's recommendations closely align with ARENAS project's work on strengthening democratic resilience through research, policy, and education.

Major platforms are stepping back from efforts to tackle misinformation, reducing safety teams and fact-checking partnerships.

This reflects the very conditions that allow extremist narratives to spread more easily across media and political discourse.

A new white paper from the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN - @eurofactcheck.bsky.social), titled "The Great Retreat: How Platforms Deprioritised Information Integrity and What to Do About It", highlights a concerning shift.

Organised within ARENAS Work Package 3 (WP3), the discussions drew on ongoing research analysing parliamentary discourse across Europe, with a focus on key themes of #nation, #gender, and #science.

Bringing together researchers, NGO representatives, and stakeholders, the seminar focused on how extremist narratives circulate across national and European parliaments, across countries, languages, and political contexts.

On 23 February 2026, the Institute of Contemporary History (INZ) in Ljubljana @inz-ljubljana.bsky.social hosted the ARENAS seminar "Circulation of Extremist Narratives through the Parliaments: Current National and European Contexts."

With contributions from consortium members representing seven universities, the event offered interdisciplinary insights into the rise of these narratives and their societal impacts.

The programme featured a keynote by Prof. Éric Fassin (Université Paris 8), followed by panels and roundtables exploring narrative framing, crossborder circulation, the actors and networks involved, and the links between antigender discourse, misogyny, antiintellectualism, and neofascist ideologies.
