Magpie began moving the boxes out, so Pippins could look through them.]

And if you don't find anything you like, that's not a problem at all. Just how it goes sometimes!

Just a portion for me is fine, or whatever you have left over. I like midnight snacks as much as the next bird.

[They smile, and walk back to their wagon. They haven't set up their tarp yet, so everything was still packed away for travel.

Eyup! My wagon is just over there if you want to take a look at my wares!

[He smiles.]

Do you want something in return? I have plenty of shiny objects I could trade for it.

What a perfect day to do some trading. Come look at my wares!

In this land, only eyes blinded by darkness can see the way...

Okay. New plan. Act natural. We've done NOTHING wrong.

[He smiles and laughs.]

But that doesn't mean I don't believe it to be true, all the same.

Anything, really! If people are willing to trade it, I'm willing to take it.

The only exception would be perishables, unless I'm really hungry that day.

Would you like to see my wares? I don't have much left after I lost my shop, but I hope to rebuild my inventory better than ever!

It's just a bottle, completely empty... I've scraped the labels off of most of them anyway so they can truly shine!

But, if a stick is what you desire, so be it.

[He picks up a stick along with the cool rock and holds them out.]

[There's lots of glowing objects in the world that Magpie comes from, so it doesn't freak them out, but... Shiny. It does draw their attention instantly.]

Wow! Such a unique item. Hm... A gemstone or two at least! Or a few different items of equal value...

[They glance around the shop.]

I don't think that anyone is more interesting than another. Just... different. Not better or worse.

Just about anything. I'm particularly partial to shiny object... if you couldn't already tell that from my current stock.

[They chuckle.]

But I think I need to branch out more, so non-shiny objects are certainly appreciated.

How about your choice of a liquor bottle, a paper clip, or a stick!

[While Shaun makes his decision, Magpie is going to gather up the rest of the rocks and pick out the coolest one of the bunch.]

[He extends a feather covered arm, hoping for a hand shake.]

[Oooooooh! A shiny object! That immediately catches his attention.]

Hah! Is it... gold, perhaps? I'll give you three rocks for something like that! Or one rock and another small item of your choice!

[Magpie had been working hard to polish some of his gemstones when the door opening caught his attention.

He looked up to his new guest with a warm smile.]
