Excited to see this conversation published between @mrssarahp.bsky.social and I about how men can engage well and responsibly with feminist theologies! You can read it here:

These last twenty-four hours have been powerful; my first of these Holy Week services as a priest. I have stood where Jesus did. I shared a meal with friends as Jesus did. I washed feet as Jesus did. I watched and waited as Jesus did, as others left one by one. I carried the cross as Jesus did.
a girl with REALLY COOL NAILS is holding a book while she is blurred in the background. The book says "ESTHER KEEPS THE SCORE: trauma, body, and politics in the Hebrew bible" in cream font, with "Alexiana Fry" below this in a light blue. The book has a large red chrysanthemum, brown crown, gold mirror, grapes, and a yellow myrtle plant with spiky flowers on it.
Yesterday was the "official" release day for Esther Keeps the Score, and I am anxious and excited to share my words with you all. Many thanks to @scmpress.bsky.social for making this process so enjoyable.

My Viva will be at the very end of June… please think of me and pray for me as I prepare!
So, that’s it. Four years of hard work. Hundreds of books, articles, and chapters read and cited. 72,979 words spread over 250 pages of writing.* That’s right… I have finally submitted my PhD thesis!

Sadly, we were interrupted by a heckler! But I decided to keep it in the video, because it exemplifies exactly the sort of problems I am trying to address in my work, ministry, and research. May we continue to thirst for justice…
I had the pleasure of giving the 2026 Reynolds Sermon in Epping this week, entitled ‘Stories of Men: Exploring Masculinity in the Bible and Christian Faith’. You can watch the video through the link below.

BOOK ANNOUNCEMENTS! 🚨📖
Cover, pre-ordering, and a video!
I’m really excited to announce a few things to do with my edited volume ‘For Nothing is Hidden: Masculinities and Trauma in Church and Theology’ being released with SCM Press in June 2026! Read on...
Though it was sadly due to covering sickness, it’s been a real treat to teach half of this module - a great experience for me as much as for the students, I hope! Some fascinating discussions and learning about what it might mean to be a more trauma-informed church.
A final bit of teaching for the Trauma and Theology module today at @westcotthousecam.bsky.social with ordinands and students from across the CTF, looking at the richness of Holy Saturday for trauma survivors and how liturgy (especially the Eucharist) can be useful in post-traumatic remaking.
We are recruiting! Could it be just right for you? Do you know someone you could point in our direction? Please share!
There’s nothing like a website spice up! 💅

I really enjoyed giving the first lecture of this year’s Trauma and Theology module at Westcott House @westcotthousecam.bsky.social, before whizzing down to Winchelsea for Nathanael Hayler’s induction as Rector! What a day!
I enjoyed filming this little video with the team at @chelmsdio.bsky.social to tell my story of vocation and to encourage other young people to explore what it means to be called. We all have a gift and a calling to offer - what's yours?

A delightful interruption to my week of annual leave, visiting The Retreat House in Pleshey to hear Bishop Guli @chelmsdio.bsky.social speak on her new book … and another clergy mum and son duo day!
This is such a beautiful, open, and gracious letter. Please do consider signing it if you agree with its content. #FaithfullyLGBT

Super pleased to see my article 'Theology and Masculinity: Developments 25 Years On' published in Feminist Theology today! I respond to Ward's 1999 article on what a theology of masculinity might look like, and show how the field has moved since... doi.org/10.1177/0966... (Need access? Let me know!)
