Today is the 251st anniversary of Paul Revere's midnight ride to warn the Minutemen of approaching British troops.
I want to take a moment to share an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence's grievances against King George III.

This image is a political illustration from the German newspaper Die Zeit depicting a confrontation between a Pope and a US President.
The artwork is titled "Pope Leo XIV" and portrays a tension-filled scene between the two figures.
This is what our cousins on the far right do not understand. Kindness and empathy go a long way to accepting the rights of others. Christianity is the cherry on top.
Prophetic words. What our present culture shows is little to none in the use of compassion and kindness.
Our cousins on the far right have been blinded by the light that obscures. Otherwise they would be promoting issues that help humanity rather than hurting it.

Eight. This is where we are now: will we find the way to save our Constitution?
Seven. I am a big fan of books and reading. It pleases me that my offspring have read a lot more than I have.
Six. I don't want to look back to the past. Tomorrow should be better than today.
Five. I am well aware of the split between right and left. I have family members in whom communication has gone off the rails.
Four. I have a profound gratitude for all of those who have shaped my soul.
Three. My beliefs have been challenged and reformed for years. Especially with marriage.
Two. As an old man, I am acutely aware of my deficiencies; but, the mind is clear.
