I forgot to take a picture before I left for work, but I have Excavation Earth sprawled out on my desk to refresh my memory of the rules against the solo opponent in preparation for hosting the game at #ConoftheNorth next week. I knew this game slaps, but I’d forgotten how hard.

Felt like -15 F at the MN State Fair’s Ice Castles last night with the family, so I figured it’d be a good place to do a little proselytizing for the lizard cult (since @leder.games is just down the road, after all). The little Frost monsters loved the rainbow slides and ice dragon eggs!

Last week at Games Club at my middle school, one of the students was shunted over the finish line by a lucky damage tile… only for us to discover all six of his crew’s tiles were shunts and his stalled, final car was hurled across the finish line by incoming fire 😂
Me as I drive through two damaging spaces and know full well my wife is gonna send the chopper to deliver the final blow…
Hahaha, perfect encapsulation. I’ve only played with it twice, and both times the diver delivered at least half of their pain ration themselves via obstacle destruction.
And I wasn’t sure if the Final Five would really feel different but they’re like a swarm of fragile bees and I love them.
Throwback to ten minutes ago when life was chrome and my Big Rig was unblemished. Two earthquakes later (which served to kill THREE of my wife’s pesky bikes) and I was forced to drive through two hazards (with no more lane changes) and took the final damage from her spiteful air strike. Witness me☠️

I feel these in my _bones_. As someone who uses a Macbook for one job and personal tasks and a Windows laptop for the other job, all these observations valid. I was gaming on Windows 3.0 and 98 for years. Why do new Windows just feel like freeware trash? Also, the _sturdiness_ of non-Mac laptops? 🤮

I really need to play more Spirit Island again… I have a two month school away from home this summer where evenings are largely my own and the last time I had that I played the heck out of my then-new base+B&C+JE collection. I’ve dug somewhat into NI but that’s the goal for this summer 😊

Feather and Flame. Firepup is my favorite of the bunch, but they’re juicy ones to dig into.
My daughter just got a glow in the dark pillowcase and black light pen from her uncles and she was ecstatic. She drew all through storytime and I told her she could use it a _little_ afterward. 20” later, she’s found and recharged everything that glows and been practicing stencils like Banksy 🤣

Well, that’s another L in @drandagames.bsky.social absolute banger Explorers of Navoria (partner and I are now at 2 each). I absolutely love the look, the feel, and the “I JUST WANNA DO MORE ACTIONS” vibe of this game. There hasn’t been a single era 3 that hasn’t elicited “noooooo” from us both. 😭
I enjoyed easily my most board gamey Christmas season yet (my kids _made_ me a custom game for a present, we had excellent extended family game times, I made huge headway on several hobbyhorse projects…) but I missed just 2p unwind with my partner. Now we return to Explorers of Navoria #boardgames ❤️
