My mom faced this issue during her childhood. Her family were enablers of pedos. The reason why they enabled such abuse is quite simple... They didn't want to believe evil people existed. They thought that not giving the benefit of the doubt made them judgemental and evil.
I made this little video discussing why telling a trans woman to "become a statistic" is transphobic, going over the "41%" cannard's origins.
Hope this helps people understand what the problem is with saying this to @acvalens.com, and why Stronny should apologise (imo!).
