I don't remember my dream joke but it must have been pretty bad because the court didn't even bother to boo me

A four frame black and white comic about my dream of being a jester. The first frame shows a jester dancing, and the text reads: "I'm a little jester, brave and bold.". The second frame shows the jester dancing in front of the king's court. The text reads "I dance my dance, I tell my joke.". The third frame shows the jester telling a joke, although the speech bubble is empty. The fourth frame shows the jester looking defeated in front of the king and court. The text reads: "The king does not laugh.".
I dreamt I was a poor jester:
Vinyl cover of Julian Bream Plays Bach. Two people are fighting with tennis rackets.
It's pretty famous but I've always loved this one - they need to bring back funny covers for classical music
Me watching a haunted house film: I could never be in a haunted house I would leave so fast aaah
Me last week: *trips on a big bone in an attic* ow godammit, not again!
Funny moment as I watched it: as the character went up alone in the attic to find some spooky secret I typed "omg this is so scary" in a groupchat before realizing going up to abandonned spooky houses to find archives was my literal job for three years
Watched The Changeling and loved it! Peter Medak directed two episodes of the TV Show Hannibal but I didn't know much about him aside from that so it was a nice surprise letterboxd.com/cleefouti/fi...
My favorite scene in Black Narcissus is when Ruth faints - it seems so incredibly modern to me, and so effective in conveying the turmoil she's in. The building drums, the color red, a glimpse at her POV as she falls down...cinema is good man
A screenshot from the 1947 film Black Narcissus, showing a nun rocking really cool red eyeshadow under her eyes.
Like look at the makeup she's rocking:
A screenshot of the 1947 film Black Narcissus starring Kathleen Byron as Sister Ruth. Sister Ruth has given up her vows and now wears a really cool dress and her hair down, drenched by the rain. She's opening the door of the monastery to stare at the protagonist, a dark look in her eyes.
I'm watching Black Narcissus (1947) and the villain slays so hard she looks like she's straight out of a 90s perfume commercial:
I think in other hands it could come out as "oh of course his parents suck, they're poly 🙄" but in WHN I feel it's very clear this is about neglect and suffocating homes (with them, but also with conservative hetero-mono parents sheltering their kids, etc etc)
Exocet volant from Dictionnaire universel d'histoire naturelle de Charles d'Orbigny. This illustration of a striking blue fish shows it from the side, with his "wings".
Illustration of a swordfish. The print made it shiny.
Illustration of a smiling, shiny fish.
Illustration of a beautiful grey and yellow fish.
Every year for April fools I find funny fish in old books from my library and print them for students so they can put them on people's backs. I love the shiny ones I found in d'Orbigny:
In France, April Fools is known as April Fish (or Poisson d'avril). The traditional prank is to put a paper fish to someone's back without them noticing. It's always been my favorite holiday tradition and I wish more people would do that instead of making things up.

The tv shows the villain puppet Jigsaw who asks "HELLO I WANT TO PLAY A GAME". The character replies, tired : "like balatro or somethin?". Jigsaw looks unhappy.
I dreamt Jigsaw hated my ass
La semaine de trois jours svp
It happened again
A post it comic where I woke up today three hours late. The text reads: another monday. I feel fine! Probably because I woke up at 10. (Three hours late)
I open the library at 9.
I always rewatch the part at 3:44 it's so impressive
The behind the scene is as impressive as the shorts themselves, astonishing amount of work youtu.be/DY41qMEEZF0?...
God, what an absolutely stunning wool felt stop motion animation youtu.be/1gWUYdmfxjA?...
Screenshot from the animated film Steamboy. The protagonist says "But father says..."
The grandfather turns around angrily and replies: "He's a fool who's sold his scientist's soul to capitalists."
The protagonist says: "But it'll help people..."
"Yes! Shareholders, with dividents."
Steamboy is good

Realizing that "poison library" sounds like the setup for a punchline that never comes to be but Jean-Michel really was just there and he really didn't want to deal with gifted skulls

Cataloging student notebooks from the 1820s today. A student 200 years ago started drawing animals on the blank pages he had left:
I wish someone gave pickled eggs... I did get some honey last time which was nice!
A four frame comic about my work at the library. The text reads: where's Jean Michel ? My colleague replies : at the poison library. In the second frame, I enter the poison library. I say "Jean Mich, a guy wants to give you a bunch of skulls." In the third frame, Jean Michel replies "WHAT" , then "NOT AGAIN' in the fourth frame.
