Went to a Secret of Strixhaven pre-release event. I actually won a round this time but my final match pointed out to me after a brutal beating that I was not playing to my deck’s full potential and taught me that I need to utilize my post-combat phase. Had I known what he taught me… good times.

When I was in, we knew we were getting screwed when dinner was steak and lobster tail. It meant right after dinner we were getting an announcement from the captain that our deployment was just extended past its initial six months. If we got a meal like this it would likely be followed by mutiny.

In the 90’s, I worked at a grocery store, we had 15 lanes and at least 12 were open on weekends. I would get fast food where they had 3 registers with an employee at each one. Today, Walmart has 20 lanes with 1 open register and a few self check. Fast food has a kiosk to take orders.

During the pandemic, CEOs learned that they could gut their staff and push the work onto the remaining desperate few left. Fewer employees meant greater profits. Once things got under control the jobs didn’t, dead employees meant more money for the board without having to pay those pesky employees.

Still playing Pokopia BUT I also wrote the script for my first comic. Today I’ll be thumb-nailing the panels and layout. I’ve had this story in my head for years so instead of waiting until I’m “good enough” I’m just going to do it. I’m kind of excited and nervous.
All books should be banned. Hear me out! If we tell people that reading is forbidden then they’ll WANT to read. All that illegal reading will make them smarter (in a perfect world) then they’ll be fighting to make massive repositories of books that they’ll want to access for free!
Not to mention employers ask for a BA/BS and 5 years of working experience for an entry level position and still want to pay minimum wage.
We used to do something similar where we would save good code blocks and insert comments on how each section worked so it could be used elsewhere by someone else and it wouldn’t cost a fortune, or be used to replace entry level jobs.
