As a Lynx fan - I'm going to miss Natisha so much! But for someone who has played a lot of basketball in MN/WI - not mountain or skyscraper states. I'm so happy for her getting to expand her horizons (literally) in Seattle!
Can also confirm via source that Aliyah Boston signed her 'EPIC' renegotiation and extension with the Indiana Fever for three extra years, protected, $1,000,000/[supermax]/[supermax]/[supermax].
That's the floating supermax, 20% of team cap, in 2027/8/9. ESPN (Shams/Kendra/Alexa) first. #WNBA
Per Shams & Andraya Carter: Wilson will earn $1.4 million for '26 & her salary will increase over the next 2 years based on her receiving 20% of Vegas' salary cap. My understanding is this is the first contract in league history structured this way. Every other multi-year deal featured fixed numbers

The jersey used by the Dodgers to retire Jackie Robinson’s iconic No. 42 in 1972 is preserved in the Hall of Fame’s collection.
Today, every MLB player will wear 42 in celebration of Jackie’s legacy.

While Jackie Robinson isn't here to be acknowledged on the day named after him, do you know who is?
Mrs. Rachel Robinson herself.
Who will be turning 104 in July.
And she still serves on the board of the Jackie Robinson Foundation
More like Amazoff, amirite????
Tabby cat hissing with fangs out and sign on cage that says “big citrus”
Y’ALL.
Look at this cat named after us! (Me, Bianca, Alex = Big Citrus)
Dr. Edie Oliver wrote us to say: “I’m a big fan of the show! I love catching up on women’s sports while I get ready every morning to go to my job as a vet at Stray Rescue, a large non-profit animal rescue in St. Louis… (1/)
Is Ryan Ruocco the deputy commissioner of the WNBA, or do they really, really need to get to this NHL game? I guess it's better than the drafts where they have done it in groups?
Anyone whose pick just got glossed over, never forget that the best player in the NBA was drafted during a taco commercial. #WNBA
And the Golden State Valkyries have selected Flau'jae Johnson with the No. 8 pick. Such a fun player on and off the court for the expansion team to now have as its franchise face
With the No. 2 pick in the 2026 #WNBA Draft, the Minnesota Lynx select Olivia Miles out of TCU.
In her lone season at TCU after four years at Notre Dame, Miles averaged 14.2 points, 6.5 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals over 32.1 minutes per game.
This is Sadie. She was finally reunited with her human, astronaut Christina Koch, after her mom’s voyage around the moon took her the furthest any human has ever been from their dog. She can't wait to hear all about the universe. 14/10 (IG: astro_christina)
She should block that number.
The MNBA minimum salary is close to the max (not supermax) for the W - which means no name players are getting as much as A'ja and Stewie will get. I'm totally fine with a vet making 500K if they can hold a roster spot in this league!
While many of the current WNBA players have been paid more money to play basketball and through endorsements - it's not lost on me that a decade ago, the minimum salary was 40K per season. Players getting PAID to pay in our oldest continuous domestic league is pretty great.
Whole bunch of Lynx signings made official by team: Czech players Emma Čechová and Eliška Hamzová, Antonia Delaere, Reigan Richardson, Jaylyn Sherrod (all training camp contracts) and Aubrey Griffin to rookie-scale deal.
Yes - it was worth it turning on this ORL v. BOS regular season finale while I'm making dinner to hear that lovely tribute from Doris Burke to her colleagues Mark Jones. Leaving after 36 years at ESPN!
Today so far for the Minnesota #Lynx:
- Re-signing Courtney Williams
- Re-signing Kayla McBride
- Signing Natasha Howard
Catching up on @thepressbox.bsky.social after the holidays and I'm delighted to have @bryancurtis.bsky.social's recap of the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa! It's incredible & hope that they still have the binders of letters people wrote to him in 1999 that I saw during my 2003 visit.
Morgan Freeman as Joe Clark, new principal at Eastside High, looking very unimpressed.

Doing the math about the big paydays that former Lynx players are getting:
Then maybe they are tanking for Sarah Strong? So many players are leaving!
I hope that this means that have Gabby Williams ready to sign! Or are we tanking for Juju?
Breaking: Restricted free agent Shakira Austin signed a multi-year offer sheet with the Toronto Tempo, sources tell The Athletic.
Washington has two days to decide whether to match the contract to retain Austin.
Skylar crashing out on Jeff is gonna become the stuff of legend. It'll be like that time Natisha had to hold Coach Reeve back from committing manslaughter on a referee. #WNBA
Can’t wait to tell my never born children where I was the night of the Artemis II Splash Down … At Pope Leo XIV’s favorite pizzeria, Aurelio’s, enjoying a special pizza they made in his honor — the “Poperoni Pizza” — with about 6 to 12 family members talkin bout damn that’s crazy, and truly it was.
Low key this is like landing at O'Hare and having to wait an hour for a gate
