Finished yesterday, and it was therapeutic as hell to hammer tiny nails into this. Upcycled materials and acrylic paint.

I read all but the last two as a child so when I encountered HP as an adult I was so confused because honestly those books aren't even very good. 🩵🤍🩷

The USPS IS NOT LOSING MONEY. THE USPS IS SPENDING TAX DOLLARS ALLOCATED TO IT BY THE BUDGET. THE USPS SHOULD NOT BE REQUIRED TO ZERO OUT ITS BALANCE SHEET IT IS NOT A BUSINESS IT DOES NOT HAVE SHAREHOLDERS. IF THE USPS IS OUTSPENDING ITS BUDGET IT SHOULD BE ALLOCATED MORE BUDGET.

It seems very obvious to me that Michael B. Jordan should have received two statues, or perhaps one twice as large statue. Or maybe the Oscar could have been double sided like a Janus. Playing two different characters and winning should mean more little gold dude in some way.

“Be kind, be involved, believe in your art,” he said. “At a time when people tell you art is not important, that is always the prelude to fascism. When they tell you it doesn’t matter, when they tell you a fucking app can do art you say, if it’s that important, why the fuck do they want it so bad? The answer is because they think they can debase everything that makes us a little better, a little more human. And that, in my book, and in my life, includes monsters.”

A member of ACT UP said that during the peak years of the AIDS crisis in the 1980s: “We went to funerals and buried our friends in the morning, protested in the afternoon and then fucked danced and partied all night.”

Because the world is on fire, it’s on us to live out loud. We need to do it all.

I'm trying for 100 art rejections in 2026, and got one this morning. I guess I get to keep this painting on upcycled cabinet door.

Texas life means seeing Monarchs in fall, winging their way south. They go by instinct to stay alive, keep future generations thriving. We help them by planting flowers that bloom after the summer, give them a respite on their journey. We keep them safe.
This is not a post only about butterflies.

Working in upcycled wood means being a bit of a supply hoarder. Tonight I asked for help and got my base pieces organized! Before and after.

Treating today as a day of action in whatever way I can, so I'm donating to the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund. Join me in donating? (Or to the mutual aid org of your choice!)

in times of turmoil it is very easy to feel like theres nothing you can do to help, especially if you are far away, but i promise buckaroo EVERYTHING helps. there is direct action like donating money or protesting, and there is cultural action like creating art and cultivating atmosphere of change

Four weeks in on my upcycled wood butterfly project. I went a little simpler on this one, working with dotwork geometric patterns and flowing vines. All upcycled wood and @decoart reclaimed acrylics.

Delivered my artwork for the Mexic-Arte Museum fundraiser. The theme this year is musicians, & I made this Tom Waits Blue Valentines. The cradled board was provided, I used scrap wood for Tom, & upcycled hearts for my valentines. It'll be available at the opening reception Jan 30th at Mexic-Arte.

Third butterfly art of the year made entirely from salvaged wood and reclaimed acrylics from @decoart. This butterfly was so much fun to paint, it was inspired by a Victorian quilt made of fabric scraps. 🦋♻️🌻

Not the first time he's shown his true colors, but y'all really need to stop using Sticker Mule if you are.

There are alternatives, I promise.
