Y'all on Punch-the-monkey-Tok? Trying to decide why I'm so deeply attached, I realized he's just like Prince Beau: abandoned by would-be family until he finally found "his monkeys." 😭
So anyway, if you're invested in lil monkey's saga, you might be the same sort of sap I am and enjoy my book lol
They're all in love! The boyfriends are boyfriends! The kingdom is threatened and these stubborn asses are going to do something about it!

If you happened to be wondering why you saw a sudden influx of indie bookstores asking authors for wholesale links in January:

We did not properly punish the confederates. We did not properly punish the insurrectionists on January 6th. We have to punish ICE.
They can’t be allowed to slink back into their communities quietly. Expose them. Arrest them. Convict them. Imprison them.
Anti-gen-AI folks get called "Luddites." Do you know who Luddites were? They weren't anti-tech—they destroyed machines in textile factories circumventing labor protections to harm workers. It was the only threat that made business owners listen to demands for fair treatment.
We need more Luddites.

May I introduce my bi, AuDHD prince who ran away from home, met an innkeeper who said “mine now, bitches” & became his Ma, then a slew of friends, lovers, adopted family, and an extremely loyal guard—all of whom will GO TO F*CKING WAR FOR HIM.

So #booksky, your favorite trope is found family because you:
- Are LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent
- Had a difficult home life
- Long for people who won't leave you?
The good advice about my AuDHD, cinnamon roll main character Beau I'm glad I DIDN'T take before I hit publish on A King's Trust:

Oh, I'm so glad you loved A King's Trust! Thanks for including it in your round-up!
Why don't we have a word for that kind of laugh where you just exhale through your nose pretty hard? Why isn't there a word for that sound you make in your throat that's like a laugh but the situation is not at all funny and you're about to say something deeply bitter?
Writers, feel my pain! Why aren't there more good synonyms for "laughed"? Like "giggled," "chuckled," "chortled," "guffawed"--these all have extremely specific use cases that usually aren't right.
While ferociously swordfighting a neighbor child, my 8yo called him a "rapscallion," a "miscreant," and a "dishonorable rogue."
I'm amused and delighted.

It's a love story to 'touch them and die's who are gooey-soft on the inside because that's what I married.
To badass, witty women who know what they deserve & carve it out for themselves.
To every queer person, but especially the bi disasters who gotta figure things out. (2/3)
