Starkbier, Stehausschank, and Boazn: Munich Beyond Oktoberfest — Casket Beer Purely by coincidence, I was able to check out Starkbierfest (Strong Beer Fest) in Munich on my way to my brother’s 50th birthday celebration in Austria. The lesser-known Munich beer fest takes place ...

Great reviews. (I wonder to myself who is it that goes out of their way for hazy IPAs these days. It isn’t me. Thanks for the heads up, and listing the hops.)

CSI Premium Brewing Syrups

Candi Syrup Inc. (CSI) has left the hombrewing Belgian sugar syrup market. Comes on top of a couple of years where a bunch of yeast producers have either shut down, or gave up on homebrewers. Pretty depressing news. www.candisyrup.com

Any idea what they’re doing for toilets and showers in the sleepers? The online info is pretty vague.

Props for Wild East’s cask beer. Not only that—they seem to like my cask beer too.

Whenever I think of Ohio Art, Etch-A-Sketch comes immediately to mind. Happy there’s a cartoon museum though.

Nothing on tap other than hazies, sours, and big beers. Long-abandoned hand pumps. All the signage is electronic or computer-lettered. Lack of appropriate glassware for what they’re serving. Chilled glassware. Not rinsing the glasses before filling.

Has a Masonite backing and it’s assembled using heavy-duty staples. Wondering why anyone would go to the trouble—the work on the mirror is well done.

Vintage pub sign for Traveller’s Rest Ales and Stout, supposedly from a pub in West Cork. @beerfoodtravel.bsky.social , have you ever heard of them?

Yes:
1) there's too many doctorates in job market.
2) it shouldn't be the top schools that have to cut back.
3) If Ed Tech isn't contributing to expand flexibility and productivity, its promoters are being shady.

Term was coined in 1975 book “Beyond Boredom and Anxiety” by the Hungarian-American psychologist Mihály Csíkszentmihály. Spouse and I have run a flow-friendly household for years. The neighbor’s cat is our biggest fan.
