Is ignoring your own chosen experts because they reached a conclusion you didn't like "gold-standard science"?

Act III of the EBM contrarian hero arc is rarely pretty.
The current administration has been relentless in suggesting that their main goal with everything they’re doing is to improve trust in public health.
We should judge them by that goal.
Fauci issued plenty of incorrect statements during the pandemic (along with many correct ones). His fans were ridiculed as having a religious devotion.
Today, Fauci is more trusted than our current healthcare leaders, RFK Jr and Dr. Oz.
They should be calling him up for advice.
The medical contrarians now in power seem a bit surprised that not everyone is giving them the benefit of the doubt or always interpreting their actions in the best possible light.
I do wonder if it has occurred to them that they once did the same thing to public officials.
So are they
Dear ACIP,
No, I will not be accepting sketchy or experimental vax injury diagnostic tests as "clinically legitimate."

I don't know why everyone keeps insisting that MAHA is anti-vax. The MAHA Institute simply wants you to know that America’s health crisis is driven by a massive epidemic of vaccine injury.

Prasad is reporting leaving the FDA…again

The guy who wrote this in the midst of a measles outbreak in Somalia doesn't know why you're trying to blame him for the measles outbreak in Somalia.
The guy who spent years writing articles like this is very confused about why you keep bringing up measles and vaccines.
I remember the good old days of 2017 when future FDA vaccines czar Vinay Prasad and I could be quoted in the same story criticizing anti-vaxxers. Instead of going to work for one.

Trust yourself, not your doctor.
Every individual needs to talk to their doctor before putting a medication into their body.
Which is it? MAHA is talking out of both sides of its mouth when it comes to vaccines.

Means, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and their allies have consistently eroded confidence in the medical establishment—even as they propose to solve the widespread mistrust of public health by encouraging Americans to talk to their doctor.
My latest.

This guy doesn’t like when scientists get political.
My most unconventional view is that I think people who wrote stuff like this hold a sliver of blame for the loss of public trust.
One way to get the media to stop talking about vaccines so much would be to not have the country’s most notorious anti-vaxxer running the healthcare system.
RFK Jr spent decades trying to get the media to make vaccines controversial. Now he’s the dog that caught the car.
One can reasonably debate what "anti-vaccine" means in many cases.
But RFK jr going up to strangers and telling them not to vaccinate their kids should meet anyone's definition. Anyone who is being honest, at least.
Overheard someone talking about how germs aren’t real. It’s mucus flowing in your blood that makes you sick. Should I let RFK Jr know about this promising candidate for CDC director?
In figuring out what roles AI will play in medicine, there is one guiding principle: what will be most profitable for the AI companies?
Great conversation! Lots of well reasoned takes.
Thanks to Why Should I Trust You for having me on to talk about Modernagate!

RFK Jr is flying in some emergency chicken soup as speak.
Saying there's no singular anti-vaccine movement is like saying there are no democrats or republicans. Sure, everyone has a unique viewpoint, but there is an organized and well-funded outfit furthering a specific set of priorities.
RFK Jr's $497,000 salary came from somewhere.
Good morning. The goal of the anti-vaccine movement is not “medical freedom.” That’s just a lie. They literally want to ban vaccines. RFK Jr & allies have filed legal requests for the government to take shots for Covid, polio, and hepatitis B off the market so you have no choice.
