Amazing feature but also not pen covering half of the entire map 😭

More Splatoon thumbnails I've been working on. Been really digging this art direction lately, so seeing the feedback has been nice 💙🐧

Anyways these kind of changes have to start somewhere so for the 0.1% chance this post has any impact it’s worth to see the game I love improve and reach its potential

I’m sure there are tons of top jp players that would be happy to give feedback, regardless or not if they used it, as long as the communication was open. And I would happily join the team as a dev (for free!) if that was ever possible (it’s not).

I think the real problem is, they haven’t been trying in those aspects. We don’t see crazy meta shifts, we don’t see wild map design. Lemuria was quite possibly the worst map ever introduced, at least in SZ. Maybe if enough people are vocal about it they will at least make a small effort.

I’ve been extremely happy with the quality of life changes splatoon 3 has gotten it really just seems that the balance and map design teams need to step up, big time. Or at least start listening to top Japanese players? If they’re trying but it’s not really working out well, I don’t mind.

Ok so you go back to mid or have a charger and blaster stand-off, idk it just seems quite incorrect. This turned into a bit of rant/thought dump but this seems to really only matter in comp at top level. Solo you at least can choose modes that favor your weapon and lower level isn’t that optimized

There’s maybe 2 boxes on crableg, 1 small sideways wall on brinewater, 1 pillow on bluefin, 1 box on inkblot to hide behind. Putting pressure on the enemy team in their spawn is basically impossible vs good teams, cover is bombed or aoe’d. Players in the open are eviscerated by chargers.

3 weeks ago 13 1 1 0

But also even on hold, where do you go. Think of crableg, museum, humpback, bluefin, romen, inkblot, brinewater, the list goes on. 1 place of entry into the enemy side, extremely easy to watch, usually a bad idea to do unless there is a clear timing or a strong special. So hide in the advantage?

But also, has charger + blaster not been winning for like 2 years straight or something like that? Armor kinda checked these guns before, now there’s nothing, also it’s generally easier not to get locked out because cooler respawns you so quickly (where blaster charger are weaker)

Every buff or nerf to a special is points moving by 10 (never 5). Weight classes are unchanged, efficiency or charge time are rarely changed. It’s a numbers game. My point is the patches should be making small tweaks to the game, often. And no, I’m not claiming everything strong should get nerfed.

3 weeks ago 14 1 1 0

Specifics, but to point out the obvious design flaw at Nintendo. They refuse to do small tweaks, often. Patches are a bit too uncommon for my liking, especially with this gigantic hitbox change. And when they do happen, they don’t really seem to address the core issues.

Some of these options have been SO weak for SO long. Triple splashdown is …. horrible, it’s so easy to kill the player using it and not really hard to dodge. Curling, generally weak, a tad expensive, tiny explosion, only really good on like roller or sploosh? The point isn’t really to dive into

3 weeks ago 16 1 1 0

Let’s say I wanted to select enperry dualies over splat dualies. Unless it’s rm(niche and still not that powerful in the mode) it’s just worse. Why? Main weapon mid, curling bomb weak, splashdown weak. Now I don’t think every weapon should be ultra powerful and viable in every meta. But the problem is

Unique abilities, items, upgrades, power spikes, weak timings, but splatoon doesn’t really have any of that. You have a main gun, a sub, and a special. Also the weapon you choose is given a kit, you’re unable to choose. Sure you can choose between certain variants, but most aren’t even viable.

3 weeks ago 17 1 1 0

Why are others so strong? Just seems… unbalanced. I’d love to say “the meta just hasn’t been figured out yet” so there’s more time for things to develop counters but it doesn’t really feel like splatoon has often been like that. Other games have a lot more intricacies with balance like

This is a small thing but damage multipliers seem kinda off as well. I see buckets 3 shot the top of bubbles from range but it takes like 10 seconds to kill a bubble as a shooter or splatling or crab or whatever. Same with brella shields . I’m fine with bullet weapons being weak vs objects but

3 weeks ago 19 1 1 0

Things like crab and zooka just get nerfed. It’s fine for this kinda balance to occur, it just seems that the poorly designed maps really exacerbate the flaws. Also going charger + blaster (range + aoe) used to leave you with less paint, now you just pressure because there’s nowhere to go

3 weeks ago 19 1 1 0

It seemed to me like the purpose of chargers in splatoon 1 was to not have a lot of paint output but be great at being defensive, getting picks, and holding overall control of the stage in the right hands. Hybrid guns are broken (pen) and liter shoots from the top of the map safely while

3 weeks ago 19 1 1 0

Chargers are completely broken. Pen+liter only. Either 5 shots of 68 damage plus insane paint output and the strongest backline sub in the game(sprinkler) or 1 shot across the entire stage plus marking and decent defensive kit. The stages are horribly charger favored and there is no cover or flanks

3 weeks ago 18 1 1 0

Completely unbreachable (like vac with so few real counters) and would be a 100% must need in comp (like sblast in jp, way too overtuned and not really fun to face against, just waiting for Nintendo to realize their mistake.

The more I play/watch the game the more sure I am that the game is completelyyyyy out of balance right now. The game has had worst states but it seems some things are a bit broken and others are left in the dust. It wouldn’t really surprise me if the meta revolves around something that is sorta 1/?

When are we going to see World Champion Power back in the arena

So let me get this straight. The league format is the exact same as last time despite all the complaints? Aren't there people from the community in on this? Genuinely don't understand how they can't reduce the time investment

Would it be possible to freeze the leaderboard at the end of the season for the major and then keep SendouQ going for the end of the season as a preseason or something that impacts MMR for the start of next season, and have that start when the ranked season does on the 1st of the month ❤️🥹
