Very high quality and totally accessible boardwalk under construction at Dunham. Very high attention to detail, such as perfectly vertical uprights, totally unrandom undulations and curves, and plenty of space for people to pass oneanother with a huge 1m of space. maps.app.goo.gl/UuV56FVokaig...

The Orville shows us that there's a demand for good Star Trek. The third season of that show is astonishingly good television.

There'd almost certainly be one as the existing recently-built section south of Wigan has a shared footway throughout.

I guess all those Scandinavians don't know what they're talking about then. You probably have a badly-designed system that's influencing your views on all heat pumps.

For the 2nd time this week Salford council have indefinitely postponed a scheme to make cycling safer at the expense of cutting a few seconds off motor journeys.

This time it’s the cyclops junction at Trinity Way / Chapel St, meaning the status quo of danger will continue

That'd be the exact section of road that's since had multiple high speed crashes.

This is the Laura Evans married to Timperley Partridge. The Laura Evans who said in a hustings that Andy Burnham "should throw himself under a bus".

She's a ghoul. Oh and they drive a >4 litre Range Rover.

Isn't he the guy who argued with @rantyhighwayman.bsky.social that he'd installed pedestrian crossings (which were actually inaccessible traffic islands and nothing more) or am I getting my privileged idiots mixed up?

In a previous life he would have been a mill owner. And not the sort who built a community around his mill, but the sort who railed against having the weekend off.

While never the most idyllic location, given the sheer amount of traffic, Deansgate Interchange used at least have some pleasant greenery and wildflowers in the summer.

Now it’s a building site with huge billboards being installed. Because what drivers need here is some huge, distracting screens.

And the new walking/cycling bridge at Pioneer Mills is a beast when compared to the old bridge (which fell over in the boxing day floods). It's gigantic.

New CYCLOPS junction on Spring Lane in Radcliffe, right opposite a brand new high school, and the existing Metrolink station. Looking good, although some oversights - like the cycleway not having a dropped kerb to Banana Way (visible with its A-frame barrier)

Honestly, I'd much rather meet one of these on the roads than your average UK driver. I know these vehicles won't aggressively rev their engines, zoom past in a fit of pique, mess around on their phone at a green light, change lanes to gain one car length before changing back, etc.

I don’t think we’ve got the Brexit people voted for. Our traders face a daily nightmare getting goods across the border.

Here’s one example of just why. Toby Ovens of Broughton Transport told us about the 26 stamps he needs on loads of forms. To move one trailer across the Channel…

To be fair, look at this and wonder where the shared footway starts or ends. Implementation of these signs can be woeful. Some councils do this. Other councils put too many in.

Driver’s rant caused 10-year-olds ‘distress’ A BUSINESSMAN who exploded into a foul-mouthed rant in front of primary school children when police stopped him for speeding has been fined.

Worth noting that nothing has changed on the section of road outside this school since this happened. Despite space being available for a small shared footway. www.knutsfordguardian.co.uk/news/1019252...
