huge post detailing all of the stuff being worked on in the first part of the year on UNBEATABLE. this is more or less a roadmap image.
every month we’re going to be adding new songs!
patch 1.7.0 is coming soon, featuring full console parity and a lot of bugfixes as well as new songs: MIC CHECK and LOW PITCH (also we're adding a star chart for RE-TUNED!).
in march we’ll add patch 1.8.0 featuring new…features (and new songs, of course!)
in april…the beatmap editor is coming! plus a collab we can’t talk about yet.
and after that…paid dlc…shhhhh we can’t tell you what it is. yet

it’s not blanket overhead; we use a pretty stripped down render pipeline all-told
it’s really just one thing: not enough video memory - even given our super efficient sprite packing, thousands of frames of animation add up. we’ve been working on optimizations elsewhere but that’s hard to resolve.

I've seen some people wondering about it, so I figured I'd tell a story re: unbeatable's enemy combat anims, and why they're not used as player sets in arcade mode. The very short answer is: anticipation frames.
Below is one of Enemy Clef's attacks: It goes 1 anticip, 1 hit, 1 recov.
