I mean a central plot point is that Palpatine is mind tricking the entire senate (and basically the whole jedi order) which is farcical. Likewise, Anakin betrays the Jedi order because Palpatine promises him a way to save Padme, which he immediately reneges on, with no consequences.

As someone who liked TLJ, this is a terrible take from Rian. As a kid, the prequels were boring, confusing, and annoying. Obi-Wan and Padme are blank slates and Anakin is written as bad from the start.

I’m sure a lot was learned from the Prequels, but the same could be said of the Titanic.

It's silly and wrong to act like Trump was gonna be committed to pacifist foreign policy before the Israelis blackmailed him. And, yes, it is in fact anti-Semitic. For one thing, there's evidently a section of the American military establishment who have been gagging for war with Iran for decades.

In any case, I don’t dispute the emergency, but am genuinely asking whether the hospitals involved can effectively resist admin pressure or mitigation is the only option at the moment.

He’s would have a lot in his favor that Obama had in 2008, young guys who are progressive without seeming to be radicals and can take a clear moral stand on the ills of the last administration. Low Republican approvals also make running a riskier (on paper) candidate more appealing.

This is all a question of life, death, and human suffering, so it matters greatly whether it is productive to pressure the hospitals to resist more strongly (as the story implies) or whether it’s necessary to shift care to institutions less vulnerable to federal coercion.

This is an important distinction because how to approach this depends on the capacity of these hospitals to resist coercion from the federal government. Are they obeying in advance? Or are they genuinely being forced under threat of pulled funding that would cause even wider suffering?

This is concerning, but it should be noted that the families in the story have been able to get hormones through primary care physicians and private clinics that are not vulnerable to threats from the federal government.
