Is there anything nicer than an English bluebell wood at this time of year?! If I were a badger I'd choose this spot too ๐Ÿ’š

Officially off now for a few days to catch my breath. So went down to the beach with Bazz after work, had it all to ourselves again. Another good fossil shark tooth hunting day.

I arranged New York Girls so that the last verse in it is just for the men - apparently that includes Bazz! He joins in and then carries on until the end of the song ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

Future-proofing travel in a volatile world How the current global situation can help us rethink how we travel

It takes 500 barrels of oil to fly to LA, and roughly 0 to take the train to Europe.

Changing your travel habits is about more than avoiding climate collapse; it's about the petro-states not holding you over a barrel.

Not sure how that negates saving it for manufacturing steel, agricultural vehicles etc.

Exactly. Even whilst it's more obvious than ever that we need to be saving oil reserves for the manufacturing or agricultural industries that we don't have good alternatives for, and stop burning it & wasting it as a single use fuel everywhere else where we do have good alternatives.

A new book, in French, by an epidemiologist who demonstrates, based on scientific evidence, that climate and environmental action improves our health and wellbeing, not just in the long term but here and now. He also examines the consequences of inaction. The book is available online.

Have had to completely remove this lovely ivy as this old shed is collapsing and asbestos removal folk are coming ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Worried that birds might be nesting in it so took it v slow but thankfully all clear, just in time. Glad I grew on 6 ivy plants from its seeds last year to replace it now!!

Oak tree & spring meadow.

At last, the somewhat bedraggled hay bales from last summer got collected, must surely have lost value but no longer a problem we need to worry about & the local horsiculture folk can de-escalate from scandalised back down to merely disapproving ๐Ÿ˜†
