Lost my Westie, Jewel, on the last day of 2025. This week I gave in and got a little guy to grow old with. (I forgot how insanely time consuming puppies are!) But, here’s my new heart.

I’m 73. My entire retirement has been stolen from me. I don’t sleep well. I cry too easily. Now my taxes are funding the end of the world as we know it. I was raised by a narcissistic mother so… this last decade has been traumatic. There must be a special place reserved for that man in hell.

Thanks! This is very similar to what I do. I keep the bites in a ziplock in the freezer and take one with me to work out.
As well, I don’t try to quilt in tiny stitches. It’s whatever comes naturally but keeping it consistent.
I give care to baste well: tedious but worth it. I start by gently ironing the quilt sandwich after smoothing it all together on the floor. If it’s small, all at once. For bigger quilts I will section it and quilt a section at a time. Four quadrants. Then I baste from the center out. Then quilt.
I say make the bites. Also, share your recipe? I make such bites. Have tried several recipes. Some seem closer to what I need than others. How do you make yours?

You’ll be disappointed. I don’t have a set up. I use a Sashiko needle and 20weight perle cotton and my lap. I baste, use a disappearing marker if necessary, and quilt.

Watching SCOTUS arguments, I’ve yet to see the idea of citizenship applied to unborn babies whose mothers are on American soil. Are the unborn protected by existing law, which may differ by state or federal? Does it turn on where a mother was at the time of conception or where she is at the moment?

I was up just after midnight on Monday morning and wrote until 4, then finally fell asleep. So I guess it counts for 5am, indirectly.

Here, I was thinking pillows made of the random hexies but then we moved and decor changed so I used the hexies like fabric in the double wedding ring piece. I fussy cut images in 1 1/2 inch hexies. You can do anything you want with them. So versatile.
