I keep increasingly emphasizing anarchism's hostility to democracy because folks really need to grapple with how democracy is tied to the evil of borders.
A majoritarian collective decision-making process requires inclusions & exclusions, and *regional* exclusion is popular pretty much everywhere.
Our Seattle is hosting a rally on April 10 outside Seattle City Hall to demand that she turn surveillance cameras across the city off. During the safety and surveillance town hall on March 27, activists handed out flyers to promote this event as attendees entered the building.

I think if folks are annoyed about No Kings rallies, or any activity they think is insufficient, they should take that as a sign to organize better for what they want people to do. Organizing is at least partly about asking people to do one or more things that they actually don’t have to do.
i’m old enough to remember when the people who now say no kings protests are the only acceptable way to protest were saying 50501 was an op to trick people into rioting

Under the contract, most types of officer misconduct can still go unpunished if a complaint isn't made within four years of an incident. The 2017 ordinance removed that deadline for cases involving dishonesty or excessive force, while setting a five-year limit for most other misconduct. But those changes were never incorporated into the contract. The new agreement lifts the four-year deadline only in limited circumstances, including if there are criminal allegations or if an officer personally conceals evidence. In most other cases, discipline can still be barred after four years — including if someone else hides evidence of an officer's misconduct.
Seattle's latest police guild contract blocks several accountability reforms the City Council approved in 2017. For one, it allows complaints about excessive force or dishonesty by officers to go unpunished if more than four years have passed.
