Every opportunity to talk about these issues shapes our campaign and the work I’ll do in the legislature. I can’t wait to see you out on the doors soon!

On porches and sidewalks, we had the kind of conversations I’ve had every day while knocking doors. Neighbors shared the issues impacting all of us in New Haven—the rising cost of living, the underfunding of our public schools, and the cruelty of the Trump administration.
It’s also how we build the relationships and coalitions that we need to get big things done in Hartford. By showing up, giving people a voice, and making sure every neighbor knows their hopes, challenges, and ideas matter to our state government.
We’re putting in the work to go everywhere and talk to everyone. That’s how we listen to the needs and priorities of our community.

1,000 doors.
Over the past few weeks, I have knocked on more than 1,000 doors across our district. Last week, the New Haven Independent came along as I knocked doors with Jennifer Quaye Hudson and Ina Silverman.

Thank you to the Ward 26 committee members for your support in this work. I’ve learned so much from our conversations, and I can’t wait to fight alongside each of you to build a better future for our city and our state.
That’s the kind of government we’re fighting to deliver, and I can’t wait for the work to come as our campaign continues to grow.
I’m running because we need to do everything we can to expand funding for our public schools, lower the cost of living, and stand up to the Trump administration.
People are ready for new leadership and new fight because in this moment, we have no time to wait. Families in our city and state work so hard every week to put food on the table, and we need a government that’s working just as hard to make life better.
68%! Last night, the Ward 26 Democratic Ward Committee endorsed our campaign with a vote of 21-9-1.
This vote reflects the energy and urgency I hear from neighbors every day when I knock on doors.

Packed house at tonight’s Hill North CMT meeting! Talking public safety, housing issues, and more.
We have to hold landlords accountable when they break the laws that protect renters’ rights, and this legislation will make that possible. Reach out to your legislator today and ask them to support S.B. 274 so that every tenant in Connecticut has the safe home they deserve!
Fighting today to keep tenants safe across our state! I’m at the Capitol advocating for S.B. 274, which will require landlords to disclose their real identities to city and state authorities.
A gorgeous sunset is a pretty great way to end an evening of knocking doors in Edgewood!
Absolutely beautiful day to knock some doors and talk to folks in West River!
I can’t wait to have thousands more of these conversations over the course of the campaign. That’s how we make sure every resident knows their voice matters and their government works for them.
We have no time to waste—we have to take on these challenges with new urgency and restore faith that our state can deliver a better future.
We heard from folks about our state’s out of control electric bills, how immigrants in our city are scared to leave home because of ICE, and why we need more programs for our youth.
Our campaign is about listening, organizing, and fighting to fund our schools, bring down costs and protect our people from Trump. We did that work this week when I joined Hill leaders to talk with residents about how state government can make life easier.

Already, I’ve had conversations about the cost of utilities, funding our schools, protecting immigrants from the Trump administration, and much more. I can’t wait to hear your ideas and priorities—see you out there!
This campaign is about listening, organizing, and bringing people together to fight for a better future for our state. That’s why I’m so excited to knock on doors from now till the election in August to talk to neighbors about what our community needs.

I also shared my belief that the path to securing that critical funding should include working with our school districts on budget transparency. We need a significant increase in school funding this year and going forward so that every student can get the education they deserve.
I talked about why fully funding our schools is absolutely crucial for building a more fair and equal future where all our kids, no matter their zip code, can get an amazing public education.
The fight to fund our schools doesn't rest! Late last night, at 12:30am, I testified for more public school funding in front of the legislature's Appropriations Committee.
I talked about why fully funding our schools is absolutely crucial for building a more fair and equal future where all our kids, no matter their zip code, can get an amazing public education.
