Me lately: "I need to take a break from the Cosmere. I've been neck-deep in it for four years now, and if I don't get some distance I *will* go insane."

Me this morning: "......it might be time to reread The Way of Kings for the sixth time."

I think dogs are the closest to spren we can have. Once we train them to talk, we'll be unstoppable. Also, A+ name right there. ❤️

At this point, I may be convinced that I've been thrown face-first into the Spiritual Realm and am living in a non-stop vision created to destroy my mind. Like... every time I check the news, none of this seems remotely real. Someone fetch me a spren... or a snarky bard.

Ever accidentally say a fantasy curse word out loud in a professional setting? Like... I said "Holy crem" in the presence of my director and VP, and I didn't realize it until I noticed their confused expressions.

I definitely did.

Aaaaagreeeeed. This book was...... A LOT.

I certainly understand. I got ZERO reading done during Christmas vacation because I had my kids constantly demanding attention. It wasn't until they were back into their normal routine that I was able to make progress.

I finished Wind and Truth. If you need me, I'll be staring blankly at the ceiling and waiting for my brain to reboot. That book was the wildest twelve novels I've ever read.

Official request to have "Just entered the last 100 pages of a Sanderson novel" included as a medically approved absence from work. Let's get that crem covered by FMLA, y'all.

I didn't have "Debating the merits of Who physiology and lore in relation to Dr. Seuss' characterization of Cindy Lou Who with a bunch of strangers on the internet" on my 2024 Bingo card and yet here we are 😶🥲

Oh I'm right there with you. I love Shallan. I think she's a very complex, nuanced character who gets way more criticism because people hate teenaged girls far more than any other type of character in literature. The misogyny is rough.

I have some theories about why people hate her. Some are valid (she does some genuinely classist/racist things in early content)... some of them are not...

His role in Wicked was 1000% Adolin-coded.

OK, I'm not a casting director by any means... but I need Jonathan Bailey to be SOMEWHERE in the Cosmere. Anywhere. Just. Put him in the Cosmere. I'm a ride-or-die anime adaptation proponent, but I would put my ass in a movie theater seat for a live action adaptation if it has Jonathan Bailey in it.

Sometimes I look at literally everything around us and think, "...........Kelsier has a point."

This is not related to literally anything I do on here. But I just watched Wicked. And good heavens, what a movie. I need to watch it again eight more times.

Yeah, I took a BIG step back from Reddit because of just how misogynistic that space has been when I tiptoed into it. *shudders*

LISTEN. We just having a silly, goofy time out here in the interspace. Not all of us memorize things Sando says. We can chill. We can be cool. We can be wrong and laugh.

...right?

(For the uninitiated, WoBs are "Words of Brandon"—things Sanderson has said about the books.)

During a team meeting, my coworkers asked me how my trip to Utah went. Over the course of the next fifteen minutes, without intending to, I told them all about the #cosmere and the massive event that was #dsnx24. Eight professionals in the finance industry now know that I'm a Major Nerd™️. Huzzah.

Them: "I read fantasy to escape the real world."

Fantasy: *depicts violent uprisings against corrupt governments, apocalyptic events, and oppressed minorities fighting against those who have wronged them*

Me: "My guy... I don't know how to tell you this..."
