Never tapped in my life, and Jacqui hasn’t in 30 years. Our “kid choreographers” were incredible teachers and mentors to help pull this off!
Ya can really see the concentration in my face… I’m working on getting these moves DOWN for the big show on April 17th. Dancing with the Local Stars is the premiere fundraiser for Cutchins. They provide vital mental health care for kids and families in Massachusetts.
While also learning how to tap dance to raise critical funds for mental health care.
And also — parenting.
Remembering to take care of yourself, too, is such an important skill. 🥱😴💤🛋️
Me on the couch trying to figure out why I’ve been napping all day after sleeping 14 hours.
OH! Over the past month, I’ve delivered my author talk in Vermont, Oregon, Iowa, New Jersey, Texas, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Kentucky…
…while working on my books.
Creative process behind my art for the Stand By Me Live commemorative poster.
Physical ink, physical watercolor, and then digital brushes.

Unintentional Gordie Lachance cosplay from 40 years ago, and bespectacled twinning with @wilwheaton.net last weekend.

Thank you for playing around with this — and I am SO sorry if you were legit excited! While I have no plans for a prose adaptation, I do hope to make an indie film adaptation someday. 🙌
I’m bucking the trend of adapting popular prose novels into the graphic format and have written a prose adaptation of my graphic memoir, HEY, KIDDO! Proud to be the debut title on Scholastic’s new Proze imprint!
I’m proud to support PEN America's important work protecting free expression. I’ll be moderating a panel on graphic novels for young readers at the World Voices Festival. Find this EXTRAORDINARY lineup in NYC on May 2nd. More info at worldvoices.pen.org
And if you’d like to hear me sing (with all of the confidence but none of the talent) with LeVar …

OH! And I would be remiss if I also didn’t mention meeting Kent Luttrell, who served as Corey Feldman’s body double and jumped in as “the dead body” when a prop mannequin proved unconvincing. #RIPRayBrower
Shout out to event’s producer Ethan Ullman for welcoming my art into this moment, and to Dan Pasternack for expertly navigating those cats on stage to share their memories of filming that American cinematic classic.
By the serendipitous nature of this world, I was invited to create the commemorative art poster for the 40th reunion tour that Wil and his castmates are currently on. Backstage, I gifted each actor with the original artwork of their respective characters.
And last night, I had the opportunity to hand him a copy of that book and tell him that, without question, his work on that film laid the foundation for my eventual memoir.
If you’ve read my graphic memoir HEY, KIDDO, you won’t be surprised to know that there was a lot about the character of Gordie Lachance that I identified with. @wilwheaton.net’s performance as the haunted young writer at the center of STAND BY ME left an indelible mark on me.
I am so excited to be a National Book Award judge this year along with @studiojjk.bsky.social, Brandy Colbert, @cottonquiltsedi.bsky.social, and @triciaebarvia.bsky.social.

Public libraries! I hope you can join us this summer!
Flying out to Portland, OR, this weekend to catch Stand By Me Live and visit a few schools.
Out-of-my-mind excited! And looking forward to seeing my poster IRL.
I’ve loved seeing all of the flowers @wilwheaton.net has received as of late.

Internal Monologue: Buckle up, Krosoczka!
Highlight of the 2025 travel season was visiting with you in your library. May 2026 kick off wonderfully for you—and your Worcester commute!
We "try" to meet once a month, but it's more like "when is everyone in town?" Good news, is that @authorgracelin.bsky.social @mikecurato.bsky.social @studiojjk.bsky.social and I got to see each other before the year ended! Grace brought lottery tickets. Only one person won something.

And look—I know it isn’t the point of therapy, but I’ve found it to be a great place to workshop new material, just like standup comedians use basement clubs in NYC.
I hadn’t realized what mug I grabbed until 20 minutes into my therapy session. But it did make for good comedy every time my coffee came into frame when I took a sip.
(Telehealth therapy is on my schedule for every Monday—ironclad on my calendar.)
