Don't necessarily disagree; just noting the contradiction between two impulses. Frankly, I find prediction markets are significantly over-valuing the chances of a D Senate takeover in our highly polarized system; by the fall, traditional partisan patterns will likely kick in.
Well... Democrats can't advocate "compete everywhere" and then just blow it off when an unlikely race *might actually* be competitive.

This. Low-propensity voters are inherently cynical and know that he's not being removed from office in the current environment, so an impeachment effort would be seen as pure "political" posturing that has no bearing on their lives. There's no upside, and a downside if it drives more R's to vote.
I know this isn't the point you're trying to make, but I want to echo any chance to re-up Six Feet Under, which doesn't get nearly enough early "Golden Age of TV" props.
