Hey folks, cross-pollinating between accounts a bit.
I built Cryptick; a site for sharing crossword clues with other people, no accounts needed.
It also contains an RSS feed of cryptic clues, updated daily at cryptick.wildvale.co.uk/feed.xml
Take a look at today's COTD, I'd love feedback!

Asking Gemini for the longest word with an odd number of vowels. It responds with a word that claims to have an odd number, but it actually has an even number, and the LLM disagrees with itself in its response.
I still can't believe so many people are bought into AI solving all their problems.

knowing the time horizon of your code is one of the best (only) ways of estimating the true cost of that code.
How @glenjamin.co.uk put it,
"Software that does what people need it to, and can be continually and efficiently adapted to those needs over time"
"efficiency" seems important to add.

There's relatively little LLM training data for niche languages and this causes poorer coding agent performance. I think this is an existential threat for smaller language communities like OCaml.
My talk at the OCaml workshop gave some actionable steps to mitigate that: toao.com/blog/ai-exis...

BLOGPOST: A pleasant diversion with #TDD
I was recently nerd-sniped by a blogpost from Ron Jeffries so I tried my hand at the problem myself and wrote up as I went.
Almost all of the blogpost is generated directly from the commit history!

An image of video game character Mario, looking disgusted next to text that reads "Passing tests", followed by a second image of Mario, looking satisfied next to text that reads "Passing the vibe check".
Announcement: I'm going to be running a ground-breaking workshop in vibes-driven development (VDD) for software developers this year!
Look out for a sign-up link in my bio.

While it's a bit of a shitty strategy by the killers, it's the sort of tug of war that you never see in 1v4 - imagine if Chess Merchant was actually fun to Vs rather than busted.
Also, weirdly fun? A complete change in how the game was played - constant rotating between healing and pushing gens.
