Let's talk about the bill, how SWBNO is fighting it tooth and nail, and other last-minute efforts to keep SWBNO unchecked.

All the more so when lives are on the line.
This has to be a legislator who has already cut a deal with Skynet when it enslaves us into the Matrix.
For the life of me, why would we give AI, and the billionaires funding it, a pass on creating scenarios that bankrupt citizens, kill families and ruin lives?

Special thanks to Councilmembers Matthew Willard and Jason Hughes for speaking with our students!
Today, @nolacitycouncil hosted GLOW, an organization that provides comprehensive wellness support to young adults, as a stop on their HBCU tour across the state. Our students toured City Hall and gained insight into careers in public service.
Statement from City Council President JP Morrell 💬
Happy Easter, New Orleans! Whether you're out at the second line, the parades, or spending time with loved ones, have a great Easter Sunday!
Amidst everything else, the Trump regime has quietly killed off the U.S. Forest Service 🌲
“One hundred and ninety-three million acres of your national forests… just handed, on a silver platter, to the people who’ve spent their entire careers trying to destroy it.”

Holy Thursday at Dooky Chase is a delicious New Orleans Tradition! The Gumbo Z’herbes is amazing (No pic 😅 I ate it too fast!).
Also had the pleasure of dining on the historic second floor where #civilrights history was made!
What a great way to start Easter Weekend!
Kame-hame-HA!
Sometimes it’s nice to remember that around the world, there are generational touchstones that overcome language & cultural barriers.
Watching Dragonball (Z/GT/Super) & waiting to see the end of a fight over 10 episodes is 1 such touchstone.
(If you don’t know about Goku, you better ask somebody.)
Just wait until these eyesore monstrosities want to come to your neighborhood. Goodbye trees. Expect to hear a constant, electrical humming, warmer temperatures and higher energy bills. Fight like hell to keep data centers out of your area.
Welcome to Story Time with JP!
When you spend nearly 15 years in the state legislature, you see some crazy stuff. So let's talk about some ridiculous bills throughout my time in #lalege that deal with animals, including the infamous #ChickenBoxing debate from 2014. www.instagram.com/p/DWmnkbIick8/
Reading is FUNDAMENTAL!📚 Thank you to the Pre-K students at Wilcox Academy at SUNO for inviting me to read “Brown Sugar Baby” for #LiteracyMonth! It’s been a while since my own kids were this little, and I really enjoyed spending time with the class!
It's Festival Season, and Jazz Fest is 30 days away! 🎷
Outside of Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest is arguably the biggest annual event in New Orleans. Not only is Jazz Fest a huge economic driver for the city, but the N.O. Jazz & Heritage Foundation supports numerous free events year-round in New Orleans.
It was a duo project with another student, but she’s pretty great!
(Don’t tell her I said that, she’s a teenage girl.)
Here is some amazing other artwork for you to check out! @neworleansmuseumofart
Today’s the last day of #ArtInBloom at @neworleansmuseumofart 🎨
Beyond the fact that this is an annual amazing event in @neworleanscitypark, it’s the debut of Fiona’s first artwork from @nocca.nola as a Level 1 visual arts student! We are so proud of her!
LOL
Honored to have NOLA City Councilmember @jpmorrell.bsky.social with us today! He shared, “I appreciate having this health fair in our city – it will help change health outcomes.”

They'll be at the Treme Rec Center (900 N Villere) until 2 PM with free heart health screenings, education sessions, and more. Thank you #ACC26 for not only visiting our city, but giving back as well!
This is what #HealthEquity in action looks like!
The @americancollegeofcardiology is having its annual conference in New Orleans next weekend, and today they kicked off the celebrations with a Health Fair right here in Treme!
City Council Core (SWBNO edition)
We had a lot of questions for SWBNO at yesterday's Joint Utilities and Public Works Meeting, and they didn't have a lot of answers. This isn't acceptable.

I’m with #DanaHenry for House #3 & #sidneybarthelemy for Senate #3!
We have a real chance during the 2026 #lalege session to restructure the governance of the Sewerage & Water Board. The time for change is NOW!
For a minute, 2026 felt calm and peaceful. And then, six SWBNO main breaks occurred across the city.
Let's talk about the Sewerage & Water Board: the progress we've made, and the challenges we're left facing.

Of course, as we’re lobbying the legislature on SWB reform, we get stuck in an elevator in the Capitol building. (You can’t make this stuff up!)
I guess this is just an occupational hazard, but everyone made it out safely. 😅
