Hamilton MPPs Donna Skelly, Neil Lumsden, and Monica Ciriello all want to slash your right to know how their government is spending public funds.
Here's an example of how the changes they champion could hide details about the Gravy Plane.

NEW: The accidental release of inmates triggers a notification to the Ontario's Ministry of the Solicitor General, according to an official, raising questions over why the government is only now pledging to “get to the bottom” of the issue. #onpoli

NEW: The Ford government has purchased a second-hand private jet for the premier.
Critics are calling it the gravy plane. #OnPoli

It costs the City of Ottawa $465/person each year to serve new low-density homes, over & above what it receives from property taxes/fees.
On the other hand, high-density infill such as apartment buildings pays for itself plus an extra $606/person each year.
Sprawl costs, infill saves. #UrbanTruth
Usual caveats about correlation and causation but that sure looks like y = f(x) to me

A court ordered Doug Ford to release his phone records.
So he's changing the law to make sure he never has to.
Wondering what he's covering up? It starts with a leaked video.

Sincere question: does or could Canada ship LNG out of Churchill MB into Atlantic via Hudson Bay instead of piping all the way to the Maritimes?
If not: why?
This is an absolutely shocking proposal that would disrupt the very foundations of democratic accountability in Ontario #Onpoli #cdnfoi
Forget the drawings. This is a flawed project being sold with false claims. My column: www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic...
NEW: A recent provincial advertising campaign to “let people know” about the redevelopment of Ontario Place cost more than $1.7 million, money one critic says the Ford government is “flushing down the drain.” #Onpoli

Hey, you know that terrible Doug Ford idea that will definitely lead to a lot of people dying unnecessarily, all for cheap politics?
No, not that one.
The one about banning speed cameras that are proven to save lives and reduce damage and injuries.
Turns out it’s terrible for other reasons too.
Weetabix no longer made in Canada in 2026 😢
A big part of the hostility to AI is that these people consistently say things that reveal a deep contempt for the dignity and value of their fellow humans.
This is the mindset of somebody who sees everyone else as NPCs, and those people kill NPCs when they play video games.

Via a photo I saw on Instagram, someone who lives in the 51st floor of their condo takes a photo of the downtown Toronto skyline which is mostly invisible due to fog with just the tips of a few towers lime the TD and CIBC buildings peeking out
The lower Great Lakes region has super bad air quality today, and one of the big causes is, surprisingly, melting snow.
The warm snap is melting the snow banks, releasing all the car exhaust & toxins & rotting debris in the snow. Which, coupled with lack of wind and rain, sits in the air as smog
Listen to the voicemail that Doug Ford left for an Ontario public servant after they texted the premier with concerns about the return to office mandate.
Ford relays some advice from his mother: "you don't like it, go get another job."

Another group given millions of tax dollars by the Ford government, including from its controversial Skills Development Fund, is being investigated by the police, the province has confirmed. #onpoli

NEW: The stats for 2025 are in - and Ontario had the worst housing construction rate in the country.
The province saw just 62,561 housing starts last year. Its target was 150,000 for this year and next year that will rise to 175,000. #OnPoli

pointing spiderman meme. spiderman 1 is the TTC spiderman 2 is Metrolinx spiderman 3 is Mosaic (private consortium)
Current service outlook on the TTC, showing normal service on all the lines except Line 6, where there is an outage between Duncanwoods and Norfinch Oakdale
Line 6 seemingly doesn't work in the snow!
While Metrolinx, the TTC, and the private consortium of companies point fingers at each other over issues with Line 6, riders are left with unreliable and broken transit.
We need a public inquiry into Line 6 and other provincial P3 transit projects!

338,000 of traffic charges dropped in Ontario this year compared to 57,000 in 2019. Our court system is in shambles. Justice denied to seriously injured road users. Dangerous driving left undeterred and prolific. globalnews.ca/video/115724...
It's a good thing provinces don't have any responsibilities in Canada's system of government.
