You know those "I'm outraged about this and you should be too" posts? This is one of those. Stealing children is a war crime. These 35,000 children MUST be returned to Ukraine.
As you know, I don't do well with loud or aggressive displays of emotion. And that's all I'm seeing: loud, angry, mocking, cruel news. I'm having to tune out news because it is anxiety-inducing.
Saw a student clutching his stomach. Asked him if he needed help. He said no. Asked him if I could call anyone. He said no. I told him if he was sick he should let me call someone to talk him home. And he said he had midterms. This is not ok.

I've been sharing this every semester for almost ten years. Feeling it right now.
Woke up to a snowstorm. Can't get any work done for staring out the window. This desert girl may never get over watching the snow come down like nothing to it.
Best of luck to everyone submitting NEH grants today!
My house is now a waystation for the Resistance. We have snacks and all the cozy blankets for naps.
Thinking about my communities and where I can be most effective. Local foodbanks are my first thought. That and continue mentoring. What are you all doing?
