it is very funny how these people are so accustomed to essentially bullying democratic politicians that they meltdown when met with appropriate pushback.

in any case, the process to amend the virginia constitution has multiple stages where, at any point, an amendment can be defeated.

Warsh hearing so far has been kind of frustrating. No one has asked the questions that seem most relevant to me:
1) is Trump's criminal investigation into Powell appropriate?
2) what would you do if Trump threatened retribution against you if he didn't like your actions/Fed policy decisions?

KEVIN WARSH: Uhm, we try to keep politics if I'm confirmed out of the Federal Reserve

Opinion | Alan Dershowitz: Why I’m Becoming a Republican I first registered as a Democrat in 1959. The party’s hostility to Israel is too much.

“By registering as a Republican rather than an independent, maybe I can have some influence on moving some Republican policies toward the center,” writes Alan Dershowitz.

It’s always the illiberal regimes doing this. You never see Canada paying a bunch of guys to write about the expanded EITC or congestion pricing.

I can’t speak to a lot of this, but the journalist/mandatory reporter hypothetical strikes me as highly implausible.

I admit that I was most curious about how he’d respond to this specific allegation because it 1) was the most serious one made, IMO and 2) would be easier to verify/disprove than most others.

On multiple occasions in the past year, members of his security detail had difficulty waking Patel because he was seemingly intoxicated, according to information supplied to Justice Department and White House officials. A request for “breaching equipment”—normally used by SWAT and hostage-rescue teams to quickly gain entry into buildings—was made last year because Patel had been unreachable behind locked doors, according to multiple people familiar with the request.

The Atlantic didn’t say who requested the equipment or from whom it was requested, so it may have been made within the detail instead of outside of it.

The Article’s claims that early in Director Patel’s tenure meetings and
briefings were rescheduled due to “alcohol-fueled nights,” that members of his
security detail had difficulty waking him because he was “seemingly intoxicated,”
and that a request for “breaching equipment” was made because he had been
unreachable behind locked doors, are false. None of these events occurred. Prior to
publication, the FBI expressly informed Defendants that these claims were “totally
false,” “made up,” and “made up to the point of satire.” As is standard protocol,
easily verified, and would have been known by any credible FBI source, breach
equipment is provided to all FBI protection details. The claim that it was requested
or provided to Director Patel’s detail because he “had been unreachable behind
locked doors” is pure fantasy

Most of Patel’s denials in the Atlantic lawsuit are pro forma, except for this one claiming his detail wouldn’t have needed to request breach equipment because they already had it. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Kash Patel's lawsuit against The Atlantic has been filed.

All else aside, it confirms this: Kash Patel was locked out of the FBI system on Friday, April 10.

The lockout set off a flurry of inquires to the FBI/DOJ/WH about whether Patel had been fired.

Burgum, the former governor of North Dakota, has championed that state’s presidential library dedicated to Roosevelt set to open on July 4 — the nation’s 250th anniversary. Burgum added that he had met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in the Oval Office as part of discussions for next April’s NFL Draft, which is set to be hosted on the National Mall.
Roosevelt’s induction into the Hall of Fame will “be happening at the library, but it’s going to be announced on the Mall,” Burgum said.

They’re doing the same thing they did with Rose and Clemens where they think the commissioner also runs the HOF. Classic Trump admin attention to detail.
