I agree that there's more science to be done! My point is more that treating it as if it's useful for conditions wherein the science does not support it is a bad place to start, because it implies a fear of the science. We can start from "legal weed did not ruin American life forever!" That's fine!
People should be able to get stoned if they want to without fear of being arrested, that is absolutely a true statement, but that does not obviate that no, you should not have a medical card for anxiety. Weed doesn't help with that any more than booze helps with depression.
I think - genuinely - that starting from the fact that weed does not actually help with a lot of the psychological problems it was medically prescribed for is a first step in this conversation, because pretending weed is something it is not is part of the problem.
There are loads and loads of genuine criticisms and reasons to be skeptical about a lot of AI claims but that does not mean this tech has no purpose. Like, that "AI actress" thing is still a lie, but that doesn't mean that all AI technology is actually nonsense.
Thick McRunfast is underappreciated, but Crud Bonemeal is pretty great.
"It's every man for himself!
...help me, Leela!"
I'm love her
The movie is akin to Pacific Rim in that it explains "we live in this world, we know it doesn't make sense, it making sense is a precondition to this movie existing, if you can't buy in maybe you should go home."
I like Snowpiercer a lot but it is also very explicitly not meant to be read as an absolute statement of intent or understanding of the real environment. (And it's definitely closer to Malthusian!)
I don't think that's true, but I can understand the general behavior patterns that would result if you did feel it was true, and considering all of this is about "feels" it's kind of irrelevant if it's true or not.
You might as well watch Snowpiercer at that point, since you like a version of the planet that bears no resemblance to an actual real environment.
Imagine looking at the stacks of money you make off of any time Disney calls you in to be a character in the MCU that barely even needs to show up any more and think, "Finally, I can focus on my real passion, running low-stakes pyramid schemes selling obvious garbage."
"Waist Vagina" was what made me giggle the most.

I mean, it's not hard to be better than me in turn. I'm loud, I'm opinionated, I'm kind of a rampaging bitch, I cuss a lot, I pay money for toy robots.
But I specifically vote against fascists, so, y'know.
"Do you think you're better than me?"
"Well, I didn't fail at an open-book test you did, so yes, by process of elimination?"
So she's a 10.
"For the last time, ma'am, no, the FBI cannot investigate "theoretical" crimes no matter how much they upset you."
I figured I was ready for where the second one was going but I was NOT.
Realizing that the goal was to demonstrate the process and not give the answer changed how I approached math class and discovered I actually liked it.
And as a general rule, when he didn't need it to be incendiary, he didn't try to force it. It kept him watchable and enjoyable.
You have to be really good at what you're doing to have a weekly show or column or whatever about things where some weeks there is nothing new to have a steaming hot take about, and a lot of people think they can do it when they cannot.

A random Waffle House would be more challenging.
