I will always love NC for keeping that law on the books. $25k is a measly amount though. They've awarded much higher. In the 90s, I worked with people that had an affair. The husband sued. His award was 100k+. Pretty hefty award for a doctor when his wife and lover worked in retail management.

I worked at a Children's museum. The amount of adults that would get mad for not letting them in if they weren't with their family or without a child was astounding. I almost called the police on one gentleman before he finally called his wife. She laid into him when she found out how he acted.

Being in a more rural area, doesn't mean it wasn't in an area of economic stability or the people were broke. There was a mall, home offices for a couple different corporations, a college. These were people who reeked of entitlement that treated all staff as 2nd class citizens.
