@mattdaviesadams.bsky.social, @sjohnsonsport.bsky.social & @lukebosher.bsky.social hashing out the latest defeat on Monday’s pod - and looking ahead to the visit to Brighton on Tuesday 🫣
What’s your main takeaway from tonight’s game? #CFC
Not exactly a revenge game from Garnacho, this
Nothing screams ‘Chelsea can’t have nice things’ more than Estevao tearing his hamstring as he runs through on goal
Chelsea hoping he’ll be fit for Brighton apparently
Joao Pedro’s injury has created a very big opportunity for Liam Delap against the club who thought they were signing him last summer. Can quieten a lot of critics if he takes it
Back in 2023, a phone call from Fernandez helped persuade Caicedo to join Chelsea over Liverpool.
Three years on, Caicedo’s place at the heart of BlueCo’s project looks far more assured.

Here's what he had to say on Maresca, Rosenior, learning from mistakes, Chelsea's shifting recruitment focus, and his message to supporters 👇

I can’t believe there are people on this Earth who watched Arsenal 0-0 Sporting
Chelsea are backing Liam Rosenior. Most outside the club are not. What are the reasons for concern, and are there reasons not to worry?
Piece with @sjohnsonsport.bsky.social and @reallycerys.bsky.social.

Andoni Iraola has worked wonders at Bournemouth. He should and will immediately become one of the most attractive names in the summer coaching market
RIP Colin Hutchinson, Chelsea's original sporting director (though that was never his job title).
He did remarkable work building Chelsea's first truly international team, and I'll always be grateful to him for talking to me for this piece

Man City are now 13 games unbeaten against Chelsea since Porto. Arsenal haven’t lost to them in the last 11 meetings.
In the fourth season of this BlueCo project, Chelsea too often fail to beat or even compete against the best.

Who should captain Chelsea on the pitch for the rest of the season (or until James gets back)?
Fernandez feels like an awkward choice now, so here are some (not entirely serious) alternatives

🕵️♂️ Mudryk in Uxbridge

How does a footballer stay ready when they’re not allowed to play football?
I watched Mykhailo Mudryk train at Uxbridge FC this week.

Cucurella is the second member of this Chelsea squad's leadership group to publicly lament Maresca's departure. He has also questioned the club's recruitment policy.
Concerns raised from within are much harder to dismiss. How will Chelsea respond?

Bit of a mad one for @acjimbo.bsky.social, @cdeccleshare.bsky.social, @jaydmharris.bsky.social & @liamtwomey.bsky.social to get stuck into tomorrow morning. Which bits should they be getting stuck into? 🎙️
Most importantly, I hope Chalobah is ok. Awful to watch him stretchered off in the closing minutes
So…. Not the best 🫣
It’s good to talk these things through though, so @mattdaviesadams.bsky.social, @liamtwomey.bsky.social & @reallycerys.bsky.social are gathering tomorrow to do just that…
We’re taking your contributions/ complaints/ despair as well 💬 #CFC
Exiting the Champions League in that manner is bad enough. But on this trajectory of performances and results, when will Chelsea be back in it?
Mamadou Sarr coming off at HT: “Oh well, at least my night can’t get any worse”
…
Can only assume the Chelsea fans still in their seats are staying to avoid the rush to Fulham Broadway
Rosenior didn’t walk into a good situation (it’s increasingly clear why Maresca was so keen to leave in January), but some of his tactical and personnel decisions have been pretty hard to understand, let alone justify.
Chelsea conceding this many easy goals isn’t remotely tenable
This would be quite the week to hear Roman Abramovich chants, but we might be only one or two PSG goals away at this stage
