Wrote a long post on my tumblr about how if we all just got really into one form of weird and experimental art, our conversations about art would be so much better, and I thought I would share it here also

The fact this has under a 100 views is a crime against art itself. I see discourse around Exit 8 or The Mummy, but what we need is acknowledgement that OBCY is a generational talent. If you've considered "catching up with culture", get real. Catch up with the future!

I hate to break this to people who donβt know this already, but difficult conversations, non starter friendships, boundary crossings and settings, break ups, meltdowns, misunderstandings, and confusion are the fire of the human spirit and you snuff it out at your own peril

Unhappy to report the phishing one is quickly becoming a real problem now. Why go to the trouble of social engineering when people will just give up their ID, financial info, biometrics, etc. to an AV portal? There's no standards so how can you differentiate a fake one from a real one?
For my weekend people:
Meditations on transgressive art, film histories both institutional and alternative, movie making behind the scenes and a scene report of a small town from 16 years ago. A demon lurks here!

There's a new SFULTRA. It's about earth's current most wonderful ongoing comic Dai Dark. If you enjoyed me enthusing about Dorohedoro in 2018, time is flat circle and god (aka Q Hayashida) is back in the building. Free for everyone to listen here www.patreon.com/posts/155544...
Ever wondered what it feels like to study film?
Well, I can't help you there, my experience was a bit unique but the third chapter of my autobio-series is out in two parts!
This has the density of an encyclopedia and better storytelling than most movies! YouTube videos can be art in their own right too. Very raw, very personal and at the same time very didactic journey, an epic in essay form!

You should definitely check my friend's video essays. They're like the kids these days say: absolute bangers.

Currently this is my favorite ongoing series of videos on youtube. There is just so, so much love, nuance and passion to movies expressed per every minute of footage π
