We had some of those things, in some of the older buildings on the campus. Especially the mimeographs (*sniiiiiifff*)
My schooling was very much all over the place. Always the same school, just zero consistency & always moved from building to building.
It’s now admin & high school (AKA football)

I think for us they just expected kids to be toast either way. The school was mostly built in the early 60’s and was absolutely useless for learning, existing, or safety of children.
It’s a bit too late for caffeine & too early for the muscle relaxers here, but will be joining you with those, later.

We had tornado/air raid (1980s in OK) drills in school. They were not explicitly the same thing but were the same thing:
No basements, so you lined up, go to an interior hallway, curl up & cover your head/neck. We now know that is useless for both bombs AND tornadoes.
