What do sporting fans make of Gyokeres at Arsenal? And what do they think of us generally?
I asked one! 👇

A lot of gems dropped in this episode but also a lot of confirmation bias since they agree with a lot of viewpoints I have especially on Arteta’s preference based on a conversation I had with a former first team player.

one of the largest surprises I had politics aside from this situation is that I was too hopeful *someone* in power/with a voice, that officials had a plan to mitigate the risk- it’s become clear 1) there was no plan 2) there still isn’t a plan 3) there may not ever be a plan. I’m still holding hope
Didn’t know Caley had it in him, learn something new everyday!
I’m thankful there are other reasonable people out there
That’s a bummer, I hold no ill will for Edu and think a lot of Arsenal fans have misinformed opinions on him. I can understand what he was doing but ultimately he clearly joined a toxic organization
I never get people moaning about VAR for offside (other than when it’s slow.) Offside is one of the few rules of football that’s truly black and white, and enforcing it as such is the right thing to do
I think he clocked the second or third fastest time for us season in Europe
Cristhian Mosquera is one of those players who shows how insufficient calling somebody 'fast' or 'slow' is. I've watched him ~15-20 times now, and I'm not sure I can accurately describe his speed. Nuanced differences between short, medium, long, side-to-side, stop/start, etc.
As I told my undergrads at the start of the semester, I'm not asking you to write a paper about Little Rock's school desegregation because I don't know what happened there.
Little Rock is just the topic. The act of researching, writing and editing the paper is the whole point.
Viktor Gyökeres' 15 goals are the most by a player in their debut season for Arsenal in all competitions since Alexandre Lacazette in 2017-18 (17).

He should come through Fancy Free in BK and meet the Brooklyn Invincibles
Enjoyed that one!
Arsenal have waited ages for the attack to catch fire. Eze and Gyokeres, uninhibited and aided by Saka's renewed excellence, looked like the players Arsenal always wanted them to be.
May not be such easy pickings every week so let's see if it is a turning point.

Typifies Saka's season so far that Opta and PL (but not FPL?) didn't give him an assist for Eze's opener yesterday. Bissouma judged to have touched the ball.
Five goals and three assists not the output he'd want but there have been many good days without end product.
Brooklyn Invincibles representing for the NLD #Arsenal
What it means.
What I noticed is that Kairat played deeper & in a low block second half likely doing damage control so we had less room for all players compared to the first half.
Do the stats/eye test bare that out @scott.cannonstats.com @billycarpy.bsky.social @tim-stillman.bsky.social @clivepafc.bsky.social
Ife likely gets his debut too
My team for tonight:
Kepa; White, Mosquera, Hincapie; Lewis-Skelly; Norgaard, Odegaard, Eze; Madueke, Martinelli, Gyokeres.
30 minutes off the bench for Havertz and Calafiori, maybe get a Hale Ender (Salmon?) on as well. Thanks very much.
I keep saying it, just gonna hammer it again here: everybody’s. open play. goals. are down.
Arsenal have won all seven of their UEFA Champions League games this season by a 2+ goal margin. No team in European Cup/UEFA Champions League history has ever won eight in a row by 2+ goals.
#ARSKAI
Kairat Almaty have just one point from their seven UEFA Champions League matches this season. They’ve conceded the joint-most goals (19), have the highest xG against (19.6) and have faced the most shots on target (58) of any side this term.
#ARSKAI
Must be nice having supportive home fans #EVELEE

Reddit post of the Aye, I Could Do That meme. From Know Your Meme: "Aye, I Could Do That refers to a scene in Lord of the Rings: The Return of The King in which, approaching the final battle, Gimli says, "I never thought I'd die fighting side by side with an elf." Legolas replies, "What about side by side with a friend?" to which Gimli replies, "Aye, I could do that." The scene was turned into an Object Labeling exploitable to show two groups, usually opposed, fighting against a common enemy." This post is a Bears fan saying "never thought I'd upvote a Packers post." "What about upvoting a fuck ICE post" "Aye, I could do that."
Our government's atrocities are bringing together Bears fans and Packers fans.
