We built a Lie Detector AI Agent.
It listens to conversations and interrupts when it detects a lie:
- A loud buzz
- An angry pirate calls it out in real time
Built with ElevenLabs Agents.

ElevenLabs Skills have crossed 11k downloads.
Once installed, you can use them to build apps with ElevenAgents, Speech to Text, Text to Speech, music, and sound effects.
Install them with:

More likely it'll simply exchange the codes for a bar of gold.
It's pretty clever though? Without the leading 0 it's too tempting for a kid to add a leading 1 ...
Yep, although I believe the (former) government has proposed a transition to a new 8-point scale π We like to mess with these details.
Looks interesting π The RPC implementation caught my attention, it seems to be a bit raw and could easily be extended to be Promise based, but I guess that is easy for users to do as well π€ Is Electron in scope for this? I've seen the RPC pattern multiple times for comms between renderers and main.
When I joined @elevenlabs.io three months ago, I didn't expect the autonomy and mandate for change to ship a major version bump in a package with 300K weekly downloads π€― I'm really proud of this release!
Thank you @steefjan.bsky.social for this nice write-up of my keynote at QCon London this week: www.infoq.com/news/2026/03...
My slides are now up as well: speakerdeck.com/ept/mitigati...
I've always enjoyed pair programming as a way to spend time with my colleagues and collaborators, while building something useful.
As assisted software engineering is moving up the chain of abstraction, I'm wondering if "Pair Planning" is going to be a thing?
11k people are using the ElevenLabs MCP server in Claude.
It connects to your ElevenLabs account and lets you generate speech, sound effects, and music directly in Claude.
All the friction of generating audio with ElevenLabs is gone.
Atomic habits did it for me π "You do not rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems."
A time-bomb triggered on the 1st of April to override the forEach method on JavaScript arrays to call the callback on the next tick, instead of synchronously.
I had this neat little idea for a great open source contribution π
If your data and language model live on the device, why should the app need a network round trip to interact with them?
@psyche.social & @kraenhansen.dk talk about:
πΉ local-first software
πΉ mobile security practices like certificate pinning
πΉ voice AI and real engineering stories
Listen now π§
I can't find any audio capabilities in the specs, does it have onboard speaker / mic, Bluetooth or would that all have to happen through the USB-C?
I suspect the npmx discord?
Sounds interesting and we've been looking for something similar. I'd love to help test and build this! How do I get involved with [new project]?
I'm wondering if we shouldn't start formalizing a move of the review process "up the chain"?
Reviewing code is largely decoupled from the plan which generated it and incorporating architectural feedback on a PR largely generated feels more like passing messages between prisoners π¬
I've been used to relaxing while coding ... And the excitement of hitting a flow state of mind, was what got me addicted to all of this.
I'm unsure if I'll ever get to experience either again.
Read it earlier today π Not necessarily agreeing with all of it, but I feel it definitely hits a lot of spots for me.
I've been used to being able to relax while coding and the excitement of hitting a flow state was what got me into all of this.
I'm unsure I'll ever get to experience either again.
Just watched @martin.kleppmann.com make a great case for adding #technological #sovereignty to the list of values and benefits of #localfirst #software! I think many #europeans in the space knows this and its really nice to see it put into words in such a clear way ππ www.youtube.com/live/e3bsA2A...
Before a major 1, I use minor as a regular minor (feature) as well as for breaking changes.
Now live π React Universe On Air.
Local-first software, voice agents, and real security stories with @kraenhansen.dk. Watch the full episodeπ

Tune in to the latest episode of React Universe on Air where @psyche.socialβ¬ and I have a jolly conversation about a mixed bag of topics dear to my heart π #local-first, #ai powered toys for my kids, #hacking my bank, #stoicism and #parenting to name a few π
I had a great time recording this π Since recording this, I've learned that producing toys with AI capabilities is explicitly prohibited by European law π It's important to note that what I did to the poor teddy bear was before I was employed by ElevenLabs (and knew better π¬) and I never sold it π
React Native 0.84 is now available!
This release makes Hermes V1 the default JavaScript engine and ships precompiled iOS binaries by default β bringing significant performance improvements and faster build times to all React Native apps.

The ESLint is such a great quality of life improvement! Thanks to @joshuakgoldberg.com, github.com/pipopotamasu and github.com/huntie for helping move this forward!
Welcome back π
Thanks for a brutality honest update! As a father of twins I can totally relate to the importance of a schedule!
I'd love to know if you picked a #localfirst architecture for your family planning app π
Let's stop for a moment, take some time and have fun π
