Was trying to think of something for #MildHorror , but my wife beat me to it:
The Ditch and the Metronome.
So excited and honored to have a copy of my first published story, White Mold. Thank you Spectrum Literary Magazine for the feature and being a delight to work with. The theme of this collection was "navigating the artistry in embracing failure".

"You read books, eh?" A 1949 red scare Herblock cartoon about pressures on teachers that hits hard once again.
Thank you @witcewu.bsky.social for the amazing opportunities this year. Odyssey Youth Movement has fun, creative artists and I can't wait to see where they go!

Wife: Well, I cropped it and added a filter so you look like less of a grandpa, but I still have opinions
Me: Like what?
Wife: Well, the glass is already empty...)
Fantastic Fiction: Trans Writers in the 20th Century?: Ask anyone who was the first trans person to win a Hugo Award and they will probably say "Charlie Jane Anders", back in 2012. I think my 2009 win is probably the first by an out trans person, but I wa…
I would like to buy your most structurally necessary book
Love writing about psychopomps and weird little shops.
Working on a superhero novel, but I'm a lot more familiar with comics. What are people's must read superhero prose books? #SpecFic #Superheroes

This year, spent more time reading nonfiction out-loud with my wife and really enjoyed it!
Our reads
-The Middle Kingdom Under the Big Sky - Mark T. Johnson
-Defectives in the Land - Douglas C. Baynton
-Over my Dead Body - Greg Melville
Would highly recommend all three!
Something that's been giving me a lot of comfort lately is the bioarchaeology of care.
In Texas, Individual 758a lived 1300-4000, cared for by her community and brought healing plans.
Human history isn't all cruelty. There has always been love and care.
