As someone who had been a field technician, for a completely different company, sometimes a call runs long, and you have no idea of the next one is going to be a 10 minute fix, or a 2 hour fix, but you know you're going to be late foe the one after that.

It's really true. Discord has largely become private to semi-public forums now, and server are used to coordinate so many things. That said, this policy is stupid so I think something needs to be done

Sure, I'm not trying to judge this person specifically, but rather open a dialog on parenting in general. I think for many people this is the norm, because a lot of our generation are people pleasers that struggle with saying no. They lie instead, and then this becomes generational learned behavior.

As someone who is not, and will never be a parent, but grew up with some, I can't help but wonder if this is teaching kids to lie and people please, instead of teaching them to both handle the disappointment of being told no, and to be able to say no to things themselves.
