The EIA projects a 52% increase in the price of gas from '25 to '32 in their Annual Energy Outlook. We should use gas for less things and/or export less of it.

I’ll remember who said “impeach” today, who was vague, and who staid silent.

Your electricity bill keeps rising. Here's what's actually causing it—and how to fix it | Fortune Retail electricity prices are climbing faster than inflation, and the most popular political fixes would make things worse.

"No single policy will bring immediate relief. But one central driver of rising bills is a regulatory model that protects monopolies, limits customer choice, and rewards overspending while deterring innovation." Great piece by @joshuamacey.bsky.social:

So yeah, they’re liars. What’s new?

But when it’s a big historic moment, they drop all pretense and purely wishcast.

“We think it’s getting better.”
It’s getting worse.

“Masks don’t work.”
Mask everyone.

Etc. etc.

I think the same heuristic will work with this dumbass war.

“This Strait is great.”
Steer tf clear.

“The regime is dead.”
The regime is v much intact.

Etc. etc.

I work in utility regulation in Louisiana, & the answer here - for the business leaders & public officials who are considering these projects - is economic development. I AM NOT ENDORSING THAT ANSWER, but it’s the message that so far has won the day.

Just - We’re a poor state. These are jobs. Sold.

I’ve lived in New Orleans for years and am still trying to understand the crowd behavior and attendance patterns here. It’s
 not normal.
