The Future of Star Trek Online Interview
The Future of Star Trek Online Interview YouTube video by Certifiably Ingame

Great vid by cingame.bsky.social, very insightful. Any speculation on the future of #StarTrekOnline is exciting, of course. My guesses for future ships: The Klingon one – K'Vort. Alien canon ship from TNG: Either Zalkonian or plague ship from Oasis. That's where I put my bets. #STO

Looks very exciting. Though I was kinda hoping for a new lockbox as well.

Oh there is very little doubt about it. China is a potential threat, but they are stable and economically reliable. The big question is if US is a bigger threat than Russia. Hard to tell.

Along with Exeter class I associate STO with Noble as well. For me the reason is the cover of Needs of the Many. It's kind of a STO signature design. So I hope the old one isn't going completely aways when this new, hotter look gets introduced, like it was with the Typhon.

Waste of my time even givin such "thought" a benefit of the doubt.

Oh, the combination of #DeepSpace9 and Una McCormack cannot result in anything lesser than astonishing. I already can't wait. #Reading #StarTrek #StarTrekBooks #StarTrekNovels #StarTrekLiterature

I guess maybe a result of french diplomatic efforts...?

People really memory holed-covid, due to a huge far right propaganda effort. That's why all you hear about is lockdowns, and not:

- hospitals out of capacity
- Skype calls with family members in quarantine as they died
- bodies stored in freezer trailors
- mass graves in NYC

"“When Trump discovered that he needed the help of allies against Iran, he did not ask them for help or work to persuade them. He simply ‘demanded’ that they do what he said. Trump doesn’t want allies—he wants vassals.”

I completely agree. NATO is defense pact, not aggression pact. My only problem is there already are at least two precedents where NATO countries went and help USA in illegal wars they started. Seeing that they now refuse is a much welcome change.

I know the vid, quite informative. He's very confident. Just as his reputation says. But he's got more than enough credit to back that up.

Isn't in wartime every citizen of the enemy country present on on the territory of the defenders basically considered an enemy combatant? I doubt there are any exceptions for journalists. Maybe for priests, not sure about those exactly.

Accountability brings consequences.

And consequences are the only language corruption understands.

Money and political power do not outrank the Constitution.

They just need a wake up call and it’s coming at the midterms.👇

I'm hardly a fan of Meloni and I suspect populism behind this decision, which still makes no difference on the fact it's a step in right direction.

Following Spain's precedent, I guess. Maybe just first couple of pieces of the domino.

Well, the "US won't be there to help you" part is much scarier since it basically says that US membership in NATO is only formal and States do not intent to honor the treaty.

Sounds like a great idea for a short story. Just saying. 😊

Btw I really enjoyed the episode of D-Con chamber with you. That hour felt like 5 minutes.

Keep shining, Doctor.

I would consider, say, 20-30% of the population to be a believable number based on this show up. Let's say that for every protestor there are about 9 more people that wanted to go but couldn't. That is a highly generous estimate. 70% is insane claim.

3 weeks ago 0 0 0 0

If 70% of the country agrees then why only 2% of the population actually showed up at the protest? This claim seems absolutely unbelievable to me. Showing up at a protest is the least anyone can do, the bare minimum. When people can't do even that little, then why should we believe they agree?

True. Yet that's not the real motivation. Religion is really just a veil hiding fascism. Both nations believe they are superior to any other. It's nationalism so extreme it easily equals that of Nazi Germany. Unless the world quickly recognize the threat, it will get a lot worse than it already is.

I understood his joke as a joke. It was purposefully torn from context and twisted by alt right influencers and that's not Weir's fault.

His fault is getting in bed with alt right influencers in the first place. Going on "drinking fascist's" podcast? Seriously?! What was he thinking? 🙄

Oh yes, every time some of the haters of new #StarTrek shows tell me how "back in the days" Trek was subtle and intricate and "not forced" in its messaging I remember all these many many scenes where a character basically stood in the middle of the screen, giving the audience a patronizing lecture.

Give this a repost if you can.

Not for clicks, I'm not monetized, that doesn't matter.

Repost to share this - the hate fades. The anger dulls.

The future we dream of doesn't happen accidentally. It happens by choice.

A platform is as powerful as we make it.

Happy Sunday :)

If we were to assume they are all criminals and deserve to be treated as criminals just because Trump attacked their country first, with no provocation, then we would be no better than Trump, would we.

No, he wants to take immigrants, no matter from where, no matter if documented or undocumented, preferably not white ones, and make their lives a living hell, preferably but not exclusively by means of deportation. Iranians in US just happen to fit the description.

If it took them this long to figure it out then there is exactly 0 chance they have any capacity for learning from their mistake. In other words, they will vote for the biggest fascist next time again if he just promises them heaven on earth. Anybody can fall for a scam but some fall for any scam.

I'm not really shocked that they are nice here. That's the difference when anonymity behind a mask isn't there any longer to give them a bianco check to to get rid of all inhibitions, legal or moral.
