I don’t get “hot honey”. To me it’s better to make the food spicy and top/dip with pure honey. 🤷‍♂️

This. But it’s only going to get worse (more websites) from here unless Discord faces major backlash / platform jump.

Yeah, I’m with you on this one, the “screen capture” is kinda self explanatory… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hello friends, if you’re trying to play #Silksong and having issues with an #8BitDo controller on #Steam, try updating the firmware and connecting in “S” mode. Steam will think it’s a Switch Pro controller, and Silksong will finally work properly.

I have not. It’s baked into the main mastodon feed, but I haven’t found a good way to just view a specific hashtag feed. Sill bouncing between Ice Cubes and Openvibe.

Apparently all of the console stores were also down…. You can grab it from GOG, but I kinda want it on steam for convenience.

A Steam interface screen shows a game’s release information. It confirms Steam Deck Compatibility with a green checkmark labeled “Verified.” Below, it says, “This game is not yet available on Steam.” The section highlights the Planned Release Date: Sep 4, 2025, with a note that the game will unlock in approximately one hour. A message at the bottom indicates the game is on the user’s wishlist and that they’ll receive an email notification upon release.

Fuck anxiety. It’s silly that I can speak to a room of 1,000 pretty easily, but lock up when sending someone a message.

I’m just going to start randomly messaging people I haven’t talked with in a while.

I can honestly say that the iPadOS 26 dev beta is the first time an apple beta has ever been worth it. Windowing is fantastic on my Mini. It won’t replace a pc, but it’s much nicer than stage manager.

I really like the built-in portfolio view that Pixelfed has going. Just wanted to share, have a nice day.

Joke is on you, social media! I only have one friend who even knows what #deltarune is, and he ain’t spoiling shit!

(still, going to probably stay off social media due a few days, not because of the power of determination, but mostly because social media is a cancer.)

(Oh, and hi Bryan)

Hot take - the fact people ship packages with UPS and FedEx showcases both the effectiveness of marketing, and the failure of USPS to be recognized for the amazing service it is.

I’m blown away by how much I’m using my iPad mini compared to my old full-sized iPad. It’s the perfect screen size for casual browsing and reading, just like my old Nexus 7 back in the day. Only wish it had 120Hz. Still, almost the perfect device.

Call me crazy, including the tariffs (which I disagree with) I don’t think the Switch 2 is overpriced.

More importantly, I think most wages have just been stagnant for too long, as if the wealth from productivity increases is going to the top instead of the masses. 🤔

A stylized animated poster featuring the Star Trek character Gowron, drawn in the style of a Studio Ghibli film. Gowron is depicted smiling and holding a Klingon dagger, wearing traditional Klingon armor with a volcano erupting in the background. A Klingon Bird-of-Prey spaceship flies in the sky above. The poster includes Japanese text at the top, mimicking the Studio Ghibli logo, and the English text reads: “Star Trek: Gowron – Glory to Your House.”

I don’t know, maybe when your country is acting like the Klingon empire, it’s okay to have a little distraction with a fun tool.

I don’t think making Ghibli images to cope is the worst thing, nor should we shame people for finding a little joy in silly things right now.

The fact that this starts with "we didn't live our lives through screens" and ends up on "and we loved to play so much Mario Kart" is so fucking funny to me. Ah yes, the famed screen-free anti-technology childhood pastime, video games.

There was a time when life was real. When we lived with our whole hearts, not through screens. A time when laughter wasn't typed out. It echoed in the streets, in living rooms, in the warmth of voices that weren't pixelated or sent through satellites. We didn't check if someone was online. We just went to them. Knocked on their doors.
Called their house phones, nervously clearing our throats before asking, "Is X home?" And if they weren't, we didn't leave a message. We just tried again later.
We didn't stay inside, hiding behind usernames and filters.
The world was our playground. We ran, we climbed, we scraped our knees, and we didn't care. We had curfews, but we pushed them, begging for five more minutes before the streetlights came on. Those weren't just five extra minutes outside. They were five more minutes of belonging.
Five more minutes of feeling alive.
We sat together, not side by side with phones in hand, but really together. Legs tangled on the floor, controllers in hand, screaming at the TV during Mario Kart, swearing we'd never forgive the friend who threw the last red shell. But we always did. Because back then, losing didn't mean logging off. It meant one more round, one more chance to win, one more memory made.
Music wasn't something we skipped through. It was sacred.

@firefox.com Heya. Since you're no longer promising to not sell my data as you have for years, can you show me where to fully opt-out? Or are you passively telling me we should break up? I really want to keep supporting you, but your words are making it difficult.

I'm amazed that the two instances of actual photography I've posted to #pixelfed have had more engagement than most of my old #instagram posts (back when it was public).

As an experiment, I think I'm going to try and commit to posting 3 times a week and see what happens.

This reminds me - I had a very pleasant train ride from Amsterdam to Berlin once upon a time. Wish that kind of trek by train was more common here. I’d love a realistic SoCal to NorCal route.

Not gonna lie a 3-day cross-country #amtrak train is looking more and more appealing each week. 😅

One thing I can say about #ios over #android is I *really* like the on-device sorting in the native mail app - so much so that I now run my gmail through it as well. By far the best mail client on mobile.

I just installed the latest #LineageOS on my 6 year old #OnePlus 7 Pro as a testing device. I love Apple's simplicity, ecosystem, and on-device #privacy features, but damn I forgot how polished and sleek a minimal #Android ROM can be.

I finally got #mastodon working again on @openvibe.social for iOS - had to completely uninstall and reinstall the app though to clear all data. At least reconnecting my accounts was quick.

Couldn’t agree with you more Julie! Also, Pequod's is great as well if you’re in the area. Look up Burt Katz if you want to go down a rabbit hole. Have fun in my favorite city @scalzi.com!
