If anyone knows of any good blogging platforms I could use that don't require people to log in to see my posts, please let me know.
I'd like to keep posting brief updates here, and longer updates that people can read if they want.
It's really tricky to have to compress everything down here.

I also added another game to my reference for textures... it turns out Battle Spire (which I actually owned when it was new) has really great textures.
So right now I am looking at the original Doom, Hexen, Heretic and Quake for visual inspiration.
I ended up spending the week on some planning for the new project, didn't work on the tech demo at all.
I'm realizing the scope of this project is already potentially huge, so I am planning ways to make it manageable, which right now means setting a hard limit on item and texture count.
I'm still using temporary graphics at this point, but the goal is to at least use graphics similar to what the final product will be, instead of the same checkerboard.
I now feel reacquainted with Blender3D enough to do the simple modeling/texturing this project will require.
I've done as much tech research as I plan to as well.
The goal of this coming week is to create an actual level you can walk around in, with actual collisions and some decor.
After all this reading, I'm not sure if I can pull off what I am trying, so I'm continuing with the Tech Demo for now, until I know for sure.
I also checked out BlockBench as a possible lightweight alternative to Blender for modeling, but I was having issues with it, so I am sticking with Blender for now.
This previous week was largely spent learning about Godot's 3D settings. I'm finding out just how much more there is to setting up a 3D game than a 2D one...
At this point, the goal is to create something that has all the mechanics first, just to see if its doable and if it runs, and if its even fun.
I have a few story ideas, but none of that will be set in stone until the tech demo is complete. The game may take place before, after or during RB 1.
I've been working hard this past week on creating the start of a tech demo for how the next RitualBound will work.
The plan is to make it like Heroine Dusk, but using 3D assets for the walls/floors, and sprites for all else.
Below is the result of the first week of work, with test textures.
I spent the week updating my tools, and learning Krita. I've compiled a list of technical things I want to accomplish with my next project.
Right now the plan is to make another NSFW RitualBound game, but like the very cool Wizardry-esq game below, Heroine Dusk.
Check it out:

The jam is over, and we got 10th place overall, 5th on aesthetics, and 3rd on horny! Not too bad at all...
Now that voting is done, I've gone ahead and uploaded the updated version with the Gallery, Difficulty settings, and a few small fixes.
Play it here!

As for the Jam entries, I didn't get to try all of them, but here are a few I really liked for various reasons: graphics, gameplay, novelty, atmosphere, etc...

I've also been watching a few Godot tutorials on concepts I want to try, and mulling over what my next project should be. I've sort of narrowed it down to 3 possible options, at least 2 of which would take place in the RitualBound world, all 3 possibly.
I spent the past week playing and rating a lot of the Strawberry Jam entries. Voting closes late today, so I'll be able to upload the post Jam version of Viscous Visitor soon, which mainly adds in the Gallery and Difficulty settings, and a few tiny fixes.
There's also a small quality improvement, the crew introduction no longer plays if you've already attempted that crew member.
Still can't upload it until after voting ends, but difficulty settings are done for Viscous Visitor.
The base difficulty is now 'Medium', with 4 other options from Very Easy to Very Hard (in case you want everyone to be as tough as the Captain ๐ค).
I can't (shouldn't) upload it until after the game jam voting ends mid march, but the requested Gallery feature for Viscous Visitor is done.
I'm working on difficulty settings next.
Alright, after what seemed like a whirlwind month, the collaboration between @froobyart.com and I for Strawberry Jam 2026 is complete, with about 4 hours to spare...
Go try out Viscous Visitor!

The Strawberry Jam entry between me and @froobyart.com is going well.
The programming is nearly complete. What remains is some art, some polishing, and maybe some playtesting before it goes live.
Here's how the crew interaction looks. Multiple icons and areas appear, you'll have to match them.

The collaboration between @froobyart.com and I for Strawberry Jam is still unnamed, but it is a point and click based game, set on a space ship.
Here is a look at the starting screen.
I've been hard at work with @froobyart.com on Strawberry Jam 2026 since Feb 1st. Two weeks down, two weeks to go. The game is due Feb 28th.
Most of the art is still in the roughs phase, but that's gonna change quickly this week... I'll post screenshots once I have something considered final!
I hope everyone liked the behind the scenes look at RitualBound!
For the past week, I've been hard at work on my submission to Strawberry Jam 2026, due Feb 28th.
I don't have anything to share for it yet, but I can say that @froobyart.com is doing the art.
I'll post screenshots as soon I can!
