There's someone quoted in this who betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of, in particular, political comms. Mamdani's success does not derive from specific aesthetic qualities, as that suggests. It worked as it was continuous with the antagonistic project he was building in a specific electorate.

In 2026, I should not be even interested in this, let alone cooing over it, but here we are...

Too bad Elon couldn't talk for another hour.
Fantastic to see both "A Drop of Corruption" and "The Everlasting" nominated.
We're back to the time of year where one bad basketball performance can ruin my day.
Reform really should be an absolute gift to a sitting government. Deeply target-rich opposition leader who is badly tainted by Trump. Back rank of even more unlikeable characters. Real nervousness among voters about them.
That Labour is still doing so badly shows exactly why Starmer needs to go
This is cool as fuck.

This is true about Burke's writing, and like the reviewer, I don't care. In fact, atmospheric noirs, set in a place as steeped in dark history as Louisiana, demand such prose.
I don't think I've ever read a sentence as unappealing as "Jim Caviezel is Jair Bolsonaro."
Project Hail Mary: Obviously a tremendously well done movie, but one shamelessly emotionally manipulative and designed to strike off a checklist of sentimentality. If you're able to switch off your brain, & enjoy the ride, then, no doubt, a pleasurable watch.
No fucking way.

I can't tell you how badly I need Caro to publish the next volume, and get to Vietnam proper.
Though "Master of the Senate" is my favourite book in the series, I think "The Passage to Power" has the best writing. Caro's genius as a writer really stands out when imbuing "Camelot" with all its mythic grandeur, while never losing focus on LBJ.

BREAKING: A record-high 40 senators just voted to block weapons to Israel, up from 27 last July.
There is much more work to be done, but today was yet another statement that the movement for Palestinian rights is growing in the halls of power.
This is a cattle dog crossed with a bull terrier, and aside from the colouring, he's a dead ringer for a dog of the same mix that we owned when I was a child.

Tiny Desk, "Glycerine", by 60-year-old Gavin Rossdale, has no business sounding this good.

I'm finding LBJ's struggles in the Kennedy White House very relatable.
I think I've mentioned this before, but seeing Americans learn about the British class system on the Industry sub is really quite fun.

Gemini started by gassing me up, "The visual evidence in this photo confirms exactly what we’ve been discussing biomechanically. At 78 kg and 6 ft, you have a very lean, athletic base...", and then told me I am a grotesque misaligned old man.
lol, related. I'm glad to see there's pushback in the replies, stating that his kids are mostly right.

I can vouch for this. Gen X is awful, and men my age are the absolute worst.
