On 8 April, we were delighted to welcome the family of the late Gordon Pyne to the Cathedral. Gordon was a highly respected Devon stonemason who worked on many of the county’s historic landmarks, including our own Cathedral.

⚒️ Stonemasons Update!

Our team is carving 12 new grotesques for the presbytery, inspired by medieval riddles from The Exeter Book. Masons are now crafting 1:1 clay models to guide the final stone carvings. It’s a rare honour to bring these local Anglo-Saxon texts to life.
