One of the oldest most elusive sample mysteries, the stab from Spectrum - Brazil (1990) was finally sourced recently by garx. It's from a 1972 recording of God Save The Queen (from the L channel specifically), which ended up a staple sound in dance music re-sampled from Brazil many times afterwards.

I had a similar experience with orchestral vgm for a bit, especially around the Hollywood-ization of it via the likes of Giacchino and Zimmer protege Harry Gregson-Williams. The month I spent with Genshin Impact during its launch was my reminder that there's good stuff out there.
