Calling cancelling the funding to Ukraine his proudest moment (Vance) should probably get more headlines compared to their war with the Catholic church

"Better than Chris Packham" in all your blurbs from now on, please :D

Fucking hell. Just casually including an MP calling for asylum applications from whole countries to be banned.

We live in hell.

It should he illegal to write stories that are going to blatantly increase hate crimes.

I will add: it’s easy to look back and say this was inevitable, that the government would always have had to at least give an inch or pretend to care about us.

I promise you, that wasn’t the case.

We came within millimetres of the original being quietly signed, and any movement from there is a win

Last year my biggest fear was this would be nodded through quietly before a fight back had a chance to gain momentum, but we have made sure that if they continue to do this - they know it will come at a cost and that we have the means to put that cost on full public display

I don’t talk about it much on here but I have been in the middle of the policy fight over this and I am damn proud of what we as a community have managed.

I’ll take a rejected and re written code over a kick in the teeth. If we give up and don’t bother because it’s a long slog - we get nowhere.

Now we have a fight on our hands, and we will see what happens next and what is in the new code, but scrapping the original draft is objectively good news while we mount the fight from here to fix things properly.

We have to bank the wins where we can or we will all flame out in unproductive despair.

Hardly anyone thought last year that we could kill the code of practice, but we did.

It’s taken political, public, media, legal and protest pressure to get here, to move the needle even slightly - but we have.

It's easy to lose the substantive win here in the Government's transphobic framing. Last summer, we expected the Code to be forced through without scrutiny. Instead, they have had to amend it and recognise they got their legal analysis wrong. It was our community's hard work that achieved this.

I haven't had any harassment at all (hurray!). Do you want this response?

This is shocking.

I know it's silly to be shocked when Labour are already actively doing these things and worse. But what they say is very different.

Not sure why saying it openly shocks me more than the behaviour.

If I had a quote like that from someone like that, I think I'd just post that once a week and nothing else forever 😁😁

Timms Review of Personal Independence Payment: Call for Evidence

I've put in my response to the call for evidence on PIP. It's not spell checked. It's not polite.

Also not paid, so why should I have to spend time professionalising something I'm doing in my own time to help fight for disability support not to be made even worse? *sigh*

I think they claim it's not bias and it won't work at all. We will see!

Sadly these hopes are unlikely, it's been like this for 23 years (yeah I know, please feel free not to properly take that in).

I accept wishes for my average pain to reduce significantly please and thank you.

I hope yours get less...messy? More predictable?

And for excellent acute meds.

What is your long term plan here? I feel like it's safe to assume they won't investigate them and will conto ue spouting some bollicks about how "women's rights" are somehow in a fight with trans rights.

Is there something you have in mind as a next step that might do something helpful?

So with you.

Not in any way covid related for me. But I miss my migraine when it was individual attacks, not 24/7.

Excellent march, would scoot it again :)

Enjoyed Jen Brister's speech (is she really not on here?)

Didn't manage to join the @dis-ppl-protest.bsky.social bloc due to my own timing fail and it was sooooooo busy.

Next time!
